  • Trick Williams spotted backstage at RAW/SmackDown tapings; main roster call-up appears imminent.
  • Two-time NXT Champion and former TNA World Heavyweight Champion; widely seen as main-roster ready.
  • No official WWE announcement; visit may be creative talks, but fans expect a debut soon.

According to a report from BodySlam.net, NXT star Trick Williams is backstage for tonight’s WWE RAW and SmackDown double taping. It is being speculated that his presence is not a fluke or coincidence. His call-up to the WWE main roster could be imminent.

Is Trick Williams Getting The Main Roster Call?

While there is no confirmation that Williams will appear on either show, his presence backstage is leading people to assume his run in NXT is likely over, and he'll begin a push as a singles star on Monday or Friday night.

Williams has been working toward a main roster opportunity for some time. He's been one of the faces of NXT, doing almost all he can do on that brand. One report described Williams as a talent who has effectively “outgrown the pond” in NXT, noting that he has experienced virtually every scenario the brand can offer. Over the past year, he has been one of NXT's most prominent figures, establishing himself as a top-tier performer and former champion.

Williams is a two-time NXT Champion and also captured the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

At this stage of his career, Williams is widely viewed as ready for the next step. With the John Cena retirement run now complete, WWE needs some new ideas and fresh creative to keep fans invested.

Nothing Official Yet For Trick Williams

Unlike some stars who get vignettes or teases before their debut, WWE has not announced any plans for Williams to appear on either show. It is possible that his visit is simply part of ongoing creative discussions and that, while he will debut eventually, it might not be this weekend.

However, the timing of all of this isn't likely an accident. WWE recently announced the nominees for Male NXT Superstar of 2025, and Williams was among the finalists. The list includes Je’Von Evans, Oba Femi, Ricky Saints, Trick Williams, and Ethan Page.

Being nominated shows that WWE sees a bright future for Williams. His main-roster arrival is no longer a question of “if,” but “when.”

For now, all eyes will be on RAW and SmackDown to see if WWE offers a hint of what’s next for one of NXT’s most accomplished stars.
