WWE is reportedly monitoring two NXT stars for potential call-ups to the main roster, following the immediate success of Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia on RAW and SmackDown.
The pool of talent thriving in WWE's developmental system has given Triple H plenty of options to bolster his main roster with new faces at some stage this year. The decision to swiftly call up Vaquer and Giulia proved the right one, and the duo's stocks have grown in the women's division.
It's looking increasingly likely that Ethan Page and Ricky Saints are the next two NXT stars to arrive on WWE's main roster shortly. They have been embroiled in a heated rivalry on Tuesday nights and most recently fought at The Great American Bash for the NXT North American Championship.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE continue to monitor Page and Saints, and they are on the promotion's radar as the next two call-ups. The duo have caught the eye with their feud, and their title match at this month's PLE received rave reviews.
Page is the reigning NXT North American Champion and a former NXT Champion who has been part of WWE's developmental brand since May 2024. The 35-year-old garnered interest from the Stamford-based promotion during his time in AEW.
Starks stunned fans when he appeared on NXT just days after AEW officially released him. The 35-year-old is a former NXT North American Champion who holds a close bond with former Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
There was no timeframe given for when fans can expect to see either of the duo arrive on RAW or SmackDown. However, given that the report indicates the situation has been ongoing, it shouldn't be too long.
Page's reign as North American champion may be in doubt should he arrive on the main roster still with the title. Solo Sikoa was stripped of the same championship after he aligned with The Bloodline and became a SmackDown superstar.
That hasn't always been the case, though, as Kevin Owens steamrolled his way onto RAW by targeting John Cena while still NXT Champion. He defeated the then-United States Champion, even while still holding the developmental brand's top title, before eventually losing it to Finn Balor.
Owens had been feuding with longtime friend and foe Sami Zayn during his transition to the main roster in 2015 before the latter suffered an injury. Zayn returned to the following year's Royal Rumble and re-ignited his rivalry with Owens and officially became an active member of the main roster.
WWE could similarly use Page and Saints' NXT feud to help with their arrivals on RAW or SmackDown. There is also a story to be told regarding the latter's friendship with Rhodes.
