Paige (Saraya)'s hopes of wanting to one day tag with Rhea Ripley or AJ Lee in WWE could be coming to fruition after she made her return to pro wrestling this weekend. The former AEW star, who left the promotion in late March, made a rare appearance at an Indy show on Saturday.
Paige appeared at Insane Wrestling Revolution and, to further fuel speculation of a WWE return, used her theme from her time with the company. The former two-time Divas Champion came out to her old 'Stars in the Night' entrance music as she wore a grin, making her way to the ring.
The 33-year-old got into a confrontation with Pierre Gerrin before kneeing him down below and eventually booking a tag team match. She announced Kenny Urband and AJ Francis (known in WWE as Top Dolla) against two mystery opponents.

There was already talk among fans about Paige potentially returning to WWE after leaving AEW, although she insisted on taking a break from the business. She left WWE in 2022 after being forced to retire due to severe neck injuries, and later moved into a managerial role and then an analyst.
Paige returned to pro wrestling with AEW and used her Saraya persona while winning the AEW Women's World Championship. But she is a free agent now and has been back in the ring training for a return in recent months.
Paige was part of the Divas era in WWE and was one of the top stars in the women's division alongside AJ Lee. They worked as a tag team and also feuded, but behind the scenes, they have remained close friends.
AJ Lee returned to WWE in September after a decade away from the business, and Paige was one of the first to celebrate. Revisiting their tag team is one of the Brit's ambitions should she return.
Paige said during an appearance the Women's Wrestling Talk podcast:
"I would love to face Rhea or be in a tag with Rhea. I feel like the first goth going against the modern goth. I would love to tag with AJ (Lee) again down the road. I feel like that would be amazing. There's a lot of people I want to wrestle."
In a different interview with Chris Van Vliet, she made clear that if she were to return to WWE she'd be doing so as Paige:
"I miss Paige so much. I tell people all the time. So again, when I went to AEW, I didn’t want to be close to my character in WWE because of the comparisons... she’s generational. I love her. She’s bad ass, tough as nails, just screaming all the time. I loved being her."
Paige's appearance at Saturday night's Indy show will spark rumors of a possible return as a surprise entrant in next month's Women's Royal Rumble match. The PLE takes place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on January 31st.
