Penta reacts to Fenix joining WWE, names dream match

Penta is excited to have his brother Fenix joining him in WWE.

Fenix will make his WWE debut on tonight’s SmackDown from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. While it seems inevitable that they’ll reunite their Lucha Brothers tag team at some point, the two are starting off on opposite brands with Penta currently on the Raw roster.

During an interview with WWE Deutschland, Penta called Fenix the best wrestler in the world.

“Yeah, man. Finally,” Penta responded when asked how proud he is of Fenix ahead of his WWE debut. “It’s very simple — the best wrestler in the world comes for the best company in the world, man. This is my brother.”

Penta told WWE Deutschland that, while he doesn’t know if it will ever happen, he dreams of facing Fenix in a mask vs. mask match in the distant future.

“This is my dream match: Penta vs. Fenix mask vs. mask,” Penta said. “I don’t know when, maybe only in my mind happens that. But maybe in 10 years… maybe it’s possible, I don’t know.”

Videos building up Fenix’s arrival began airing on SmackDown last month following his departure from AEW. Dave Meltzer confirmed in the new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Fenix’s first WWE program is planned to be against Andrade. In advance of his debut, WWE Shop has released its first Fenix merchandise with two T-shirt designs and a mask available.

On Raw, Penta has been featured in the Intercontinental title mix with a multi-man match expected to take place at WrestleMania 41. Bron Breakker is the current champion.
