CM Punk versus Seth Rollins in a steel cage was the main event of Monday Night Raw from Madison Square Garden. It was a wild match with an even more incredible ending. Roman Reigns returned to make a statement, setting up what will likely be a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania 41.

Rollins vs. Punk Was A Grudge Match

The bout began with a furious exchange of fists as both men threw haymakers until they were exhausted. Neither attempted a pinfall or tried to escape the cage early on—this was about brutality and taking the other man out.

Rollins was sent crashing into the cage, allowing Punk to hit a devastating GTS. Despite the opening, Punk showed no interest in leaving. Physically drained from the relentless exchanges, he invited Rollins to escape, returning the favor from earlier in the match. Instead, Punk climbed the ropes and delivered a massive elbow drop. Rather than capitalize by escaping, he ascended again for a second top-rope elbow. Punk hit a third elbow drop, but Rollins still managed to kick out.

Punk then scaled the cage, seemingly preparing for another high-risk move. Rollins, however, climbed up to meet him, and the two battled at the top before Rollins turned the struggle into a superplex. Yet, Punk kicked out.

Both men got back to their feet and traded strikes once again. Punk hit another GTS, but it wasn’t enough to put Rollins away. He went for a third, but Rollins countered into an STF, mirroring the way John Cena had beaten Punk at Elimination Chamber. Punk reversed into an Anaconda Vice, but Rollins raked his eyes and followed up with a Stomp. Punk kicked out again.

Determined to finish things, Rollins climbed to the middle rope for another Stomp, but Punk caught him with a GTS. Rollins kicked out. The crowd roared as the match turned into a battle of sheer willpower.

In a shocking moment, Punk hit Rollins with his own Stomp. Rollins kicked out, then taunted Punk, daring him to try and take everything from him. Punk responded with a running knee, but Rollins countered by delivering a GTS of his own, followed by another Stomp—yet Punk still refused to stay down.

As the match came to a close, Rollins delivered a devastating super Stomp. He stood over Punk, taking his time to watch as the crowd erupted in anticipation of the final moment.

Roman Reigns Showed Up

Reigns came out of nowhere and dragged Rollins out of the ring. He ended up helping Rollins win the cage match, but that's not why he did it. He wanted retribution over the Royal Rumble and he attacked Rolins on the outside. He hit Rollins with a spear and then hit a stomp as payback. Reigns stood over a fallen Rollins and promoted the crowd for one more. He set Rolins head up on the steel steps. Officials came out and got in the way.

Reigns looked back in the ring at Punk, who was now in the ring with Paul Heyman. Reigns climbed into the ring and threw Punk into the cage twice, then hit him with a spear. Heyman cowered in the corner as the fans chanted, "OTC!" Reigns put his finger in the sky as the show came to a close.
