The Road to WrestleMania is about to reach its final stop. The wrestling world has its eyes fixed on Chicago as WWE ascends on the United Centre. Ten tons of steel will make its way into the Windy City with WWE ready to put on its last show before it heads to Las Vegas with this Saturday’s 2026 Elimination Chamber PLE. It will prove to be an exciting night of wrestling with a usually raucous crowd ready to see the WrestleMania vision become clearer.

Two Elimination Chamber and two championship matches round out a card that should deliver from top to bottom. Each match has its own intriguing angles and an air of unpredictability. Yes, every match has its favourites, but there is no telling what swerves WWE is going to throw at us. There are many reasons that this PLE is a must-watch for any wrestling fan. Just a few of those reasons are highlighted below.

AJ Lee Returns To Singles Action

The return of A.J. Lee was undoubtedly one of the biggest highlights of 2025. Her and CM Punk’s mixed tag team match was a fantastic trip down memory lane, and it left the wrestling world wanting more from A.J. Lee.

A Royal Rumble return didn’t happen, but Lee was not long for our television screens when she was thrust back into a program with rival Becky Lynch. A program that had become more than personal and led to an Intercontinental Championship showdown in Chicago.

Seeing A.J. Lee step back into the ring for her first singles match in over a decade is worth the price of admission. She was one of the best workers in WWE history and has now had some time to shake off the ring rust. If the promos between her and Becky Lynch are any indication, we are going to get a great match on Saturday. A match will have the Chicago crowd going nuts throughout and could present a few surprises along the way.

CM Punk & Finn Balor Steal The Show

CM Punk has been on quite the side quest along the way to the main event, WrestleMania. With part-timer Roman Reigns staying away from WWE, Punk is making do with a mini program opposite Finn Balor. The two had previously put on a banger of a match for the World Heavyweight Championship.

It was one with a telegraphed finish, but one that had the crowd jumping out of their seats. We can expect the same at the Elimination Chamber, but with a hometown crowd fueling the action.

Roman Reigns and CM Punk have already been decided for WrestleMania, so the finish of this match will surprise no one. That doesn’t mean that it won’t be an entertaining ride from two of the best on the Raw roster. Punk and Balor have always met expectations in the ring, and they have plenty of motivation come Saturday.

Balor is looking to prove that he can still compete at a high level, while CM Punk is hoping to raise the bar as he heads to WrestleMania. There is so much going for this match that it’s impossible to expect anything less than greatness.

The WrestleMania Landscape Begins To Materialize

The Elimination Chamber is the last stop before the build to WrestleMania kicks into full gear. We have only had one match announced for the Show of Shows: CM Punk defending the World Championship against Roman Reigns. An odd move by WWE to only have two matches announced so far, as we aren’t too far away from the big show. A move that should be recited on Saturday when Elimination Chamber airs on our television screens.

With two Chamber matches set to determine the number one contenders for two World Championships, we will know at least two matches coming out of Saturday. Additionally, there will be other programs that will further develop at the Elimination Chamber. We will no doubt see a few major WrestleMania matches take shape, getting us excited for both the Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania—a dual spot of excitement from WWE.

Women’s Elimination Chamber Match

Now that Liv Morgan has chosen her opponent for WrestleMania, this is going to be the match that decides Jade Cargill’s challenger.  Each woman involved in the Elimination Chamber match presents interesting options for Jade Cargill, and there’s no knowing which direction WWE will go in.

Some matchups can harken back to previous programs that the WWE Women’s Champion has competed in, while others are going to give WWE some fresh matchups to sink their teeth into. It’s this type of ambiguity that has been missing from chamber matches from the past, and makes the Women’s match one that everyone should be watching.

The freshness of the women involved in this match is going to make it a fun contest to watch. We have Elimination Chamber veterans wrestling against a variety of first-timers.

There is some history between the combatants, but not enough to have anything seem drawn out. If WWE plays this right, this should be one of the best Chamber matches in company history. No one should be walking away from the television when WWE’s Women’s enter the Elimination Chamber.

Men’s Elimination Chamber Match

The prize for the winner of this match will be a date with Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania. Something that each of the men in the match would love to have a crack at, but only one can claim. Unlike the Women’s match, there are only a few men who could conceivably win this match, but that doesn’t mean that it would be a fantastic match to watch. There is a fantastic variety of styles present in the match, which will make the action incredible.

We have some great ground-style wrestlers, like Randy Orton, L.A. Knight, and Cody Rhodes, mixing it up with the young high-flyers like Je’Von Evans and Jey Uso. It’s going to be a lot of fun seeing what kind of memories these men can create. Also, who isn’t amped up to see what type of insane spot that Evans will pull off? We all know that it’s going to happen, and the Chamber is a perfect platform for him.

Yes, we can assume that the winner of this match will boil down to one of three men, but WWE has been known to throw a wrench into the machine. It would be a huge swerve to see someone like Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, or even Jey Uso win the match. If the Men’s Elimination Chamber is the main event, it could end in a shock. This is a move that WWE loves to do, and would make the Elimination Chamber a huge story at the end of the evening.
