Rhea Ripley Reflects on Short RAW Match with Maxxine Dupri

Every WWE superstar has a match they'd love to do over — and for Rhea Ripley, it wasn’t on a grand stage like WrestleMania or SummerSlam. Instead, her biggest regret happened on an episode of Monday Night Raw, and it involved rising fan-favorite Maxxine Dupri, who made the leap from valet to in-ring competitor with Alpha Academy's support.

Why Rhea Ripley Would Like To Redo Match With Maxxine Dupri

While speaking with WWE on Netflix, Ripley revealed that she wasn’t happy with how the match, which aired on the December 11, 2023 edition of RAW, saw Ripley defeat Dupri in less than three minutes. It wasn’t the length as much as it was Dupri’s only her sixth match in her in-ring career, and the former WWE Women’s World Champion wished she had helped her more.

“I think for me, the one that I had on TV was really really short, it was me and Maxxine Dupri. The only reason I want to redo it is because it was like her third match or something like that. I just wish that I had helped her a little bit more beforehand.”

The December 2023 match so far has been the only singles match between the two. It's safe to say that they both have more than enough time in their careers to have another match, and Dupri will no doubt be more experienced.

What’s Maxxine and Rhea Up To Now?

Flash forward to July 2025, Rhea is still one of the biggest WWE stars, while Maxxine is currently in a tag team called “Dungeon Dolls” with future WWE Hall of Famer Natalya. Ripley is set to face WWE Women’s World Champion Naomi and Iyo Sky in a Triple Threat Match for the title this weekend at SummerSlam.

Dupri, on the other hand, isn’t on this year’s SummerSlam card, and her last Premium Live Event match was not too long ago. It was actually only a few weeks ago, on July 13 at WWE Evolution 2025 . Dupri was one of the 20 women who were part of the Battle Royal. The match ended with Stephanie Vaquer as the winner.

Ripley was also part of the Evolution PLE. She unsuccessfully faced Iyo Sky for the Women’s World title, though Sky still ended up losing her title that night. The 2025 Women’s Money in the Bank winner, Naomi, successfully cashed in, marking her third title reign. Anyway, what happened that night helped create their upcoming SummerSlam match.
