Ric Flair’s Friday bore concern on two separate fronts.
The 77-year-old wrestling legend first posted an update about a blood clot on X.
Flair said he had to cancel a scheduled appearance in Seattle. “I am dealing with a blood clot in my leg, and my doctors have limited my travel to 3–4 hours,” he wrote, noting that Seattle was out of his range.
Flair apologized to his agent, Steve Solomon, as well as to Washington State Horror Con and Big Event NY. He also referenced Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, whose blood clot diagnosis has ruled him out for the season.
Just hours later, TMZ Sports reported that Flair fell outside a Tampa restaurant. According to the outlet, unnamed sources said he left the Wagamama bar that morning. He walked across the street and left his phone and drink behind.
The sources said Flair suddenly fell, cutting his head and eye. TMZ adds the eye bled heavily, and he may have a concussion as a result of the unfortunate accident.
They also obtained a photo showing medics gathered around him. It’s reported that they loaded him into an ambulance and rushed him to the hospital.
Flair’s says in his post that he is scheduled for a procedure to strip the affected vein. He wrote that his doctors expect it to clear him to travel more afterward. TMZ says it is unclear how the fall may affect that plan.
Flair also stressed the seriousness of clots. “Blood clots are extremely serious and can be life-threatening,” he wrote.
This is not his first clot-related cancellation. Flair skipped the Cauliflower Alley Club reunion back in August because of a blood clot.
Flair has dealt with several health issues in recent years, with this the latest of many setbacks.
