Ricochet appreciates the public support he received from Will Ospreay before deciding to join AEW. In media interviews dating back to when Ricochet was still with WWE, Ospreay praised his friend as an all-time great in the ring. Ospreay told Comicbook that he thought WWE’s use of Ricochet was “appalling” — and he wanted Ricochet to be somewhere he was genuinely appreciated. Ricochet gave notice to WWE in June before arriving in AEW last month. In a new interview with CBS Sports, Ricochet “spoke gracefully” about his time with WWE and claimed that he did not talk with any AEW wrestlers until making the decision to leave. But Ricochet says it was cool to see Ospreay advocate for him so vocally. “To see him so verbally advocate for me is awesome,” Ricochet said. “I think for a long time Ricochet hasn’t had the opportunity to advocate for himself so it was really cool to have my homie do that for me.” Now that they’re both in AEW, Ricochet and Ospreay are destined to renew their in-ring rivalry at some point.
