  • Ridge Holland had successful disc replacement surgery in Manhattan Nov 24 to relieve nerve impingement.
  • He was released by WWE while injured, dealing with a Lisfranc foot injury and neck issues that affected mobility.
  • While sidelined he did meet-and-greets, sold merch, and plans more fan appearances during recovery.

Former WWESuperstar Ridge Holland gave the latest update on his ongoing injuries. As noted, Holland was released by WWE in October while he was dealing with a foot injury. He would also reveal on social media in October that he’s been having neck problems. Now it seems he is getting some relief.

Ridge Holland Undergoes Successful Surgery

Holland revealed to fans on Instagram that yesterday, Monday, November 24, he underwent successful disc replacement surgery. He got the surgery in Manhattan, New York. He wrote:

“After experiencing pain and lack of mobility due to pain in my neck, I consulted with doctors and had tests taken that determined that I had two collapsed discs in my neck, resulting in nerve impingement. Yesterday, I underwent disc replacement surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan with Dr Sheeraz Qureshi. The surgery was deemed to be very successful. And I got a room with a view.”

Before his 2025 release, Holland had been with WWE since 2018. Holland was moved from the main roster to NXT in 2023, and that’s where he would capture his only title in WWE. He and Andre Chase were the NXT Tag Team Champions.

The Initial Injury

WWE received some flak for firing Holland while he was injured, and it didn’t help that the injury happened in the ring. Holland had injured his foot against Moose on a TNA taping in September. Holland later revealed that it was a Lisfranc injury. WWE was going to be paying for his surgeries, though the problem for Holland was getting money for his mortgage. In his original post, he criticized WWE. He was blunt and told the company and the fans how he was "left out to dry" by the company.

It was thought that Holland did have a GoFundMe set up to help pay for his bills and other expenses, though that wasn't the case. The GoFundMe had the likes of WWE Women’s U.S. Champion Chelsea Green and even wrestlers from the rival promotion AEW sharing what they could. It was later revealed, not long after, by Holland that it was an unauthorized fundraiser, and he took it down.

Now, while Holland can’t wrestle because of injuries, he does have a plan to do more meet and greets. The former star was most recently part of the GCW event, “Dream On.” There he was doing autographs and photo ops. He was also selling merchandise. This was, of course, days before his surgery. So here's to a speedy recovery.
