Roman Reigns claims he’ll be full-time following WWE World Heavyweight Championship win: ‘You’re gonna see my ass all summer’

Two potential names who could be lining up for a title shot against Roman Reigns are Oba Femi and Gunther. Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported on Sunday that Reigns/Gunther were slated for an upcoming feud, while Femi called out Reigns on the WrestleMania 42 Post-Show.

“I think tomorrow is a celebration,” Femi said. “I think in the coming weeks is the establishment of a new main event player. And I think at the end of the year, the OTC can get some!”

During Reigns‘ interview later on the Post-Show, fans chanted ‘OBA’ when his future was discussed. He stood up out of his seat, smiled at the friends, and responded to the chants.

“Oba had a big night,” Reigns said. “Oba, you gonna kill me? You’re still a little fresh in this business. You did a big thing tonight, but I’ve done that many times. And, I’ve done that with a title on the line. I took it and defended it. Let’s see how you do during the summer. Then, we’ll know if you can step up to the Greatest of all Time.”

Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk to become new World Heavyweight Champion

The win over CM Punk marks Reigns’ seventh World Championship victory, and first world title reign since he dropped the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL Night 2. He earned the match after winning the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble, the second of his career (2015).

By defeating Punk, Reigns also breaks a two-match losing streak in the Main Event of WrestleMania. In a match that also involved Punk last year, Seth Rollins came out on top in a Triple Threat, thanks to help from Paul Heyman. The year prior, Reigns had his 1,316 day Undisputed WWE Universal Championship reign snapped by Rhodes.

With Reigns slated to become a full-time member of the WWE roster once again, who knows what could possibly be coming next for the future Hall of Famer.
