Seth Rollins Breaks Silence After Vacating World Heavyweight Championship
WWE

Seth Rollins' vision has become cloudy following Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed's betrayal, which wrote him off WWE TV, and he has undergone major shoulder surgery. Rollins picked up an injury in a Crown Jewel Championship match against Cody Rhodes in Perth, Australia, earlier this month and was forced to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship on Monday night RAW.

Seth Rollins Speaks After Vacating World Title

Rollins didn't appear on RAW as he was back home recovering from surgery, but his world title was featured front and center. Breakker reluctantly handed over the gold to general manager Adam Pearce, who officially announced that the Visionary had been stripped due to injury.

The 39-year-old faces months out of action but has finally spoken for the first time since the shocking end to his reign as the leader of The Vision and his second spell as world heavyweight champion. He took to Instagram to update fans on his condition:

"Caffeine and clarity. See ya on the other side. P.S. I love football."

Rollins' return date is unknown at this point, but WWE are reportedly hopeful he'll be back in time for WrestleMania 42. He was expected to face Roman Reigns at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada but those plans may now be in jeopardy due to his time off.

He will miss Saturday Night's Main Event on November 1st, where he was supposed to defend the world title against longtime rival CM Punk. The Best in the World will instead face Jey Uso for the vacated title in San Diego, California.

WWE Must Postpone Rollins-Reigns

WWE

There was plenty of hype surrounding a potential Mania match between Rollins and Reigns because of their lengthy backstory. Both were members of The Shield alongside Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) when first arriving on the main roster back in 2012, and they have since become bitter enemies following the breakup of that faction.

Rollins has had Reigns' number like anyone else and that was a compelling part of the story as we headed towards the Road to WrestleMania. But any plans WWE did have for the pair to lock horns in Nevada need to be shelved so that a proper feud can play out without needing to rush it.

Once the former two-time World Heavyweight Champion is fit and ready to return he should do so as a babyface given the manner of the Vision's split. If Breakker isn't in the world title picture ahead of Mania, a match that sees Rollins try and get revenge on his former protege makes perfect sense, and could do wonders if he puts the unpredictable badass over.
