Skye Blue is progressing in her recovery from injury but does not know when she’ll be making her AEW return yet.

Now approaching nine months since surgery, Blue did a signing for K&S WrestleFest this week. She was asked how her ankle is healing.

“I’m trying,” she responded. “Healing an ankle is not easy, especially when it’s completely disconnected from your leg [laughs]. But hopefully soon. Getting better and better every day.”

A fan asked when we’ll see her back in action, but Blue does not have that answer at the moment.

“I wish I knew, brother. But I’m trying. I’m trying,” she said. “I can walk, that is a plus. I remember when I couldn’t do that when I was butt-scooting up my stairs. Oh, that was the worst.”

Blue suffered a broken ankle while facing Hikaru Shida on the July 20, 2024 episode of Collision. The injury happened a few minutes into the match when Blue was on the outside and took a crossbody from Shida. Blue could not continue and the match ended in a referee stoppage.

Last September, Blue did make an on-camera appearance for AEW during the pre-show for All Out in her home state of Illinois.

Kyle Fletcher, who is dating Blue, told Good Karma Wrestling earlier this month that Blue’s return should be coming “sooner than we think.” He said her recovery has been challenging, but it’s been rewarding to help her through it and reach milestones like getting back in the gym.
