Skye Blue is set to undergo surgery.
The 24-year-old broke her ankle during a match with Hikaru Shida on the July 20 AEW Collision in Arlington, Texas. The match was called off when Blue couldn’t continue after taking a high cross from Shida on the outside.
On Tuesday, Blue’s partner, Kyle Fletcher, posted a picture of Blue waiting outside a sign that says “Day Surgery” to his social media. The couple is requesting both prayers and cat toys.

Our own Dave Meltzer also addressed Blue’s injury in last week’s edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Meltzer wrote:
“Skye Blue suffered what was believed to have been a broken right ankle on the 7/20 Collision show. About 2:00 into her match with Hikaru Shida, Shida came off the middle ropes with a crossbody to the floor. In catching the move, it first looked like Blue’s knee went out. They were scheduled to go to the commercial break after the move and Shida was just playing to the crowd while Doc Sampson was checking on Blue. They called the match off at about 4:30 and Blue was taken to the back. Shida was supposed to win the match to set up her match with Britt Baker on Dynamite.”
