Stephanie Vaquer made history at NXT Roadblock 2025, capturing the NXT Women’s Championship in a hard-fought battle against Giulia. With this victory, Vaquer not only stays the Women's North American Champion but is now the Women's NXT Champion, solidifying her place at the top of the most stacked women's division since NXT began.
She is one of WWE’s rising stars and the first South American woman to hold championships in CMLL, NJPW, and WWE.

This year’s Roadblock included a stacked card with three championship matches. The women were the main event, and Vaquer’s victory was a huge one. It came under unfortunate circumstances, as reports leading up to the match indicated that one of the competitors was dealing with an undisclosed injury. Both PW Insider’s Mike Johnson and Ibou later confirmed that Giulia was the one affected. Her loss on Tuesday essentially proves it.
Considering Giulia was battling through something, it was a fantastic match. Both women gave it their all inside The Theater at Madison Square Garden. The decision to hold the champion vs. champion match at Roadblock suggests that WWE wanted to move the title off Giulia before she stepped away for recovery. The hope is that she'll be back sooner than later.
The match itself was an intense showdown that showcased why these two were at the top of a world-class women's division. WWE wrote, "The Dark Angel went for broke with a Spinal Tap, but Giulia countered into a Rings of Saturn, only for Vaquer to roll through into a huge Arrivederci Knee Strike."
Vaquer, who signed with WWE in July 2024 and made her debut in Mexico City, has been on an impressive run. Already holding the NXT Women’s North American Championship, she now stands at the top of the division with the two titles. It will be her job to carry the division until the brand can decide how they want to handle her North American Championship, which she'll likely relinquish for a tournament.
Meanwhile, this presents a big opportunity for others to step up with Giulia out of action. Cora Jade already sent a message to Vaquer on social media: "Don’t get too comfortable @Steph_Vaquer."
The arrival of former TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace in NXT adds another layer of intrigue to the women’s division, and she may potentially be the next most logical challenger.
As for Giulia, fans took to social media to wish her a speedy recovery. The NXT women’s division remains as competitive as ever, and the main event match on Tuesday night only proved why.
