Following news that both R-Truth and Carlito are set to see their contracts expire, The Miz made changes on his social media accounts, suggesting he might be the next to go. The third-longest-serving member of the WWE roster has removed all references to WWE from his social bios and several posts related to the product.
Forming Awesome Truth with you was one of the best runs of my career. No one made me laugh harder. Your energy, heart, and smile lit up every room…and every arena. You’re not one of a kind, you’re one in a lifetime. Love you, Truth. Keep shining. â¤ï¸ pic.twitter.com/RU6UaDXGSx— The Miz (@mikethemiz) June 1, 2025
On Sunday, The Miz sent a message to R-Truth which read, "Forming Awesome Truth with you was one of the best runs of my career. No one made me laugh harder. Your energy, heart, and smile lit up every room…and every arena. You’re not one of a kind, you’re one in a lifetime. Love you, Truth. Keep shining." Just 24 hours later, The Miz is now the one who appears to be leaving WWE.
The Miz has unfollowed and removed all mentions of WWE from his X/Twitter account. It is reported that his contract is up for renewal this year.
Removing things or changing up a bio might not mean anything. The Miz is one of WWE's most prominent ambassadors and makes numerous media appearances on behalf of the company. As strange as it feels to see both R-Truth and Carlito going, having The Miz leave for all the press he does as part of his contract feels odd. At the same time, he's not used all that often in matches and he moves from Superstar to Superstar, trying to make partnerships and backstage segments work. WWE might feel he's not offering them the ROI, given that he's likely among the higher-paid talents.
Reports are surfacing that WWE is making the difficult financial decision to let some contracts in the company expire. These are people everyone backstage likes, but as WWE goes through the numbers and tries to justify some of the expenditures on wrestlers like R-Truth, The Miz, and Carlito, word is that Triple H and other executives are deciding that the money being spent isn't justifiable.
The trouble for fans and other talents are that these three (assuming all are leaving) are among the more beloved stars backstage. It will be intriguing to see what this does for locker room morale.
