Three big matches were added to the NXT Roadblock card during this week's edition of WWE NXT.
The show on Tuesday night was headlined by the Hardys making their NXT debuts in a tag team bout against No Quarter Catch Crew. The Hardy were victorious, with Jeff Hardy hitting a Swanton Bomb on Myles Borne for the pinfall.
After the match, Fraxiom (Axiom and Nathan Frazer) came out, seemingly to congratulate the Hardys. However, the Hardys said they wanted to find out who the best tag team in the world is. Santino Marella, TNA Director of Authority, appeared and made the announcement that the Hardys will defend the TNA Tag Team Championships against Fraxiom at NXT Roadblock.

Also on Tuesday night's edition of NXT, we saw TNA X Division Champion Moose defeat Lexis King. After the bout, NXT Champion Oba Femi appeared and confronted Moose. It was revealed that the two men will clash for the NXT Championship at Roadblock.

Last, but certainly not least, the opening match of NXT on Tuesday night saw NXT Women's North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer defeat Karmen Petrovic. After the bout, NXT Women's Champion Giulia appeared.
Giulia challenged Vaquer to a champion vs. champion match at Roadblock. Vaquer accepted the challenge.

Colts' QB decision makes no sense, sets stage for wasted season
The Indianapolis Colts must have zero belief that Anthony Richardson is capable of being a starting quarterback in the NFL. That is the only logical conclusion one can draw from their decision to go with Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback for the 2025 season, while also giving him a lengthy leash to play through. It's not only nonsensical, but it sets the stage for what could be a completely wasted season of football where they do not get anything from it. Whether the Colts decided to go with Jones or Richardson, their ceiling was unlikely to change. They're not a Super Bowl-contending team, and they may not even be a playoff team. The Colts have a very flawed roster that is probably more than just one quarterback away. But that's part of the reason why it would have at least made sense to give Richardson one more run at it. While the early part of his career has been filled with injuries and inconsistency, he is still a player they used a No. 4 overall pick on. He is also a player who is still full of talent, a big arm and — in theory — a lot of potential. He is in a lot of ways still a mystery and something of an unknown as an NFL player. He's played only 15 games, thrown just 348 passes and is still 23 years old. There is still something there that a team can dream on. It would make sense to try to see if he can figure it out given that unknown potential and upside. Jones, on the other hand, is the complete opposite in every way. He is a mostly known commodity in the NFL. He has appeared in 70 regular-season games and thrown 2,241 passes, and he is going to be 28 years old when the season begins. There are no secrets here. Everybody knows what he is: veteran mediocrity. Sure, there is a chance he could follow the path of Geno Smith and finally put things together and become an above-average starter after washing out with the New York Giants. But those types of success stories are the exception and not the rule. After six years and nearly 2,500 passes in the NFL you start to get a sense for what a quarterback is and what they can do. Jones has shown everybody who and what he is as an NFL starting quarterback: not good enough. What are the Colts hoping to accomplish here? Maybe Jones is a marginal upgrade over Richardson right now. But is he enough of an upgrade to take them from a mid-level, average team to a playoff team or a contender? Not likely. Not in a stacked AFC. Due to Richardson's upside, if he can reach it, he might actually have the ability to do that. That alone should have been the incentive to give him one more run at it. If he washes out, then you might know for sure that he is not your answer and that you need to seriously look at the position again in 2026. The season might not go well, but it at least wouldn't be a waste. Right now, the Colts just seem to be hoping that Jones can get them to another eight- or nine-win season that keeps them squarely in the middle of the NFL standings. Nobody wants to see that. Nobody wants to watch that. They should have at least given Richardson one more swing at it. Now they have pretty much already written him off as a potential option without ever really knowing for sure if he could do the job or reach his potential.
Giants have firm stance on possible Jameis Winston trade
The New York Giants have one of the deepest quarterback rooms in the NFL, and there has been speculation that Jameis Winston could be the odd man out when the regular season begins. It does not sound like Winston is going anywhere, however. Russell Wilson is expected to be the Giants' starting quarterback in Week 1. The big question is whether Jaxson Dart or Winston will enter the year as Wilson's primary backup. Dart has played well through two preseason games, and Brian Daboll and his coaching staff have raved about the former Ole Miss star. Some have wondered if the Giants could entertain trade offers for Winston should they decide they view Dart as their No. 2 quarterback. Assistant general manager Brandon Brown was asked about that on Tuesday, and he all but ruled it out. "I appreciate people that are interested, but Jameis is a New York Giant. The way that he's gone about his business from day one, he's made it very intentional of the fact that he wants to be here and he wants to be here for the long haul," Brown said. "Teammates love him. His preparation process, whether it's the off-field things that he does in terms of community relations, Bible studies, things in the locker room, galvanizing the group together — not just the quarterback room, but the offense as a whole. "He's been comic relief, but he's also been a really good example of how to be a pro and handle your business in terms of prehab, rehab and postgame care. So, I'm happy he's here, and he's gonna continue to do those things. He hasn't wavered, and he hasn't been shaken by any distractions at all." Winston signed a two-year, $8M contract with the Giants in free agency this offseason. The deal could climb as high as $16M with incentives, but he would need to play quite a bit to hit those. The Giants value Winston's extensive experience, just as they value Dart's upside. There is a reason they signed both Wilson and Winston and traded up to draft Dart. They believe in all three players, and they likely will not be inclined to trade Winston unless they receive an excellent offer.
Steelers' Aaron Rodgers Has Harsh Words For Offensive Line
The Pittsburgh Steelers' new quarterback Aaron Rodgers had worried the fan base that he might disrupt the team’s chemistry. Instead, Rodgers has arrived in Pittsburgh determined to earn the right to lead this team. From the moment he stepped into the locker room, he has been an engaged teammate, quickly building relationships and setting a professional tone. His leadership has already strengthened the team’s chemistry, easing the initial concerns that came with such a high-profile addition. Rodgers recently shared a telling moment on Cam Heyward’s Not Just Football podcast, where he revealed that he was not pleased with the offensive line after quarterback Skylar Thompson was thrown to the ground during practice. Whatever way he is trying to lead so far has been working, and it is exciting for Steelers fans to hear these little moments from the four-time league MVP. "I said, 'We got to protect each other. And you guys are the policemen out there on the field. You’re the big brothers out there. You protect everybody from DK [Metcalf], to me, to whoever’s in there (at) quarterback or whoever’s in there (at) running back. I don’t care if it’s preseason practice, whatever. You got to protect them.'" Rodgers continued to share why this moment was so important for him to speak up. He explained that in the following weeks, he watched the offensive line respond and take his message to heart. Steelers' Aaron Rodgers Has Turned The Offensive Line Into Some Dawgs He specifically mentioned that Zach Frazier, Mason McCormick, Troy Fautanu, and Spencer Anderson were actively on the lookout the next time a similar situation occurred. Rodgers emphasized that his goal is not to instigate fights, but to ensure the players are there to protect their brothers on the field. That mindset reflects the type of leadership Rodgers has brought to Steel City. Steelers fans should be encouraged to know that this is the kind of leadership he is offering during practices. NFL preseason Week 2 standout performers: Eagles find another defensive gem
Now that the second week of the NFL's preseason is officially in the books, let's take a look at some standout performances from this week's action. Some rookie quarterbacks did their part to show they belong in the NFL, and the Philadelphia Eagles may have found another defensive superstar. Jaxson Dart, QB, New York Giants Dart may not open the season as the Giants' starting quarterback, but he has already made a pretty strong statement in the preseason. He was outstanding in their second game against the New York Jets, completing 14-of-16 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown. The Giants have been desperately trying to fix their quarterback spot since Eli Manning's retirement, and to this point every option they have tried has failed. Dart is going to get his chance soon enough, and so far he has made a strong first impression. Stetson Bennett, QB, Los Angeles Rams Bennett's upside and NFL future has always been up for debate, and his ceiling has always seemed extremely limited due to his lack of size (5-foot-10, 190 pounds), age (he was 25 as a rookie) and lack of an elite arm. But he was a winner in college and has some toughness to him, and there's typically a place for that in the NFL as a backup. He made a strong showing over the weekend in the Rams' preseason win over the Los Angeles Chargers, completing 28-of-40 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns. So far this preseason he has thrown for 512 yards and five touchdowns. With starter Matthew Stafford dealing with back issues, Bennett might be inching his way up the depth chart. He better be ready. Quinn Ewers, QB, Miami Dolphins Almost everything that was just said about Bennett also probably applies to Ewers in Miami. College success, questionable NFL upside and probably playing for a career as a very good backup. But he still has to play his way onto a roster before that can happen, and after a disastrous preseason debut in the Dolphins opener he was able to bounce back with a huge game over the weekend, completing 11-of-17 passes with two touchdowns. Drew Mukuba, DB, Philadelphia Eagles The Eagles just keep reloading their defense every year in the draft. It's like a well-oiled machine at this point. They might have found another standout with Mukuba, a second-round pick out of Texas. His performance on Saturday included a pick-six and a fumble recovery against the Cleveland Browns. He is stepping right into their starting lineup as a safety. He has already earned it. Ricky Pearsall, WR, San Francisco 49ers With Deebo Samuel gone, Brandon Aiyuk still recovering from an injury and Jauan Jennings looking for a new contract there is going to be some added pressure on Pearsall to make an impact in the 49ers passing game. He had a strong showing this week by catching three of the four passes thrown his way for 42 yards, including a 22-yard connection.
