TNA iMPACT After The Bell (7/31/25) – Sad But True
Courtesy of TNA Wrestling

The Path to TNA Bound For Glory has started. This long path until the October 12 PLE will have two PLE stops: Emergence on August 15, and Victory Road on September 26. So, many things could happen till Bound For Glory, on TNA iMPACT and NXT every week, and on PLEs.

The preview was clear. This episode was all about action, with 5 matches, including two title bouts. There were also some signs of the first notes of a bittersweet symphony in the making. Let’s Nygma-dive into the episode, as there are some things to say about it (as always).

TNA iMPACT Results (7/31/25)

  • TNA X-Division Title Three Way Match: Leon Slater (c) defeated Cedric Alexander and Jason Hotch (w/John Skyler & Tasha Steelz)
  • Dani Luna & Indi Hartwell defeated NXT’s Arianna Grace & Jody Threat
  • The Rascalz (Myron Reed & Zachary Wentz) vs The Nemeths ( Nic Nemeth & Ryan Nemeth)
  • TNA Knockouts World Title Match: Masha Slamovich defeated Jacy Jayne (c) (w/Fallon Henley & Jazmyn Nyx) via DQ
  • AJ Francis & Trick Williams defeated The System (Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards) (w/Alisha Edwards)

The Nygma’s View

Title Matches and Opportunities

I’m used to saying there’s no better opener for a show than an X-Division match. That works for PLEs and iMPACT. Leon Slater kicked off the show with his first defense in a three-way match against Cedric Alexander and Jason Hotch. Slater prevailed, which is not a surprise, in a very good match. No interference, just good wrestling.

As Leon Slater pinned Jason Hotch for the win, Cedric Alexander seized the opportunity. Later in the night, Alexander would congratulate Slater on his victory, but the two agreed that a singles match would happen at Emergence. Nygma has nothing to say about it, which means Happy Nygma.

Masha Slamovich was violently confident before her Slammiversary Knockouts Championship rematch against Jacy Jayne. Once again, she did an amazing job in the ring, despite Fatal Influence’s interferences. But there was Ash by Elegance, the official #1 contender for the TNA Knockouts Championship.

Ash attacked Slamovich from behind and caused the disqualification. After the match, Fatal Influence and The Elegance Brand got tense before they were chased off by Xia Brookside and Léi Ying Lee. Nygma says: No surprise here, sadly.

Director of Authority Santino Marella later made a Milan Miracle. Next week, Ash By Elegance will challenge Jacy Jayne for the TNA Knockouts World Championship, with Heather and M By Elegance banned from ringside. The winner will defend against Masha Slamovich. Nygma says: I love Milan Miracles.

KC Navarro was revealed not to be clear to compete in the main event. The 6-Man match turned into a tag team match, TNA World Champion NXT’s Trick Williams and AJ Francis vs. Moose and Eddie Edwards. Despite his injury, KC Navarro interfered in the match, but it didn’t help Williams and Francis.

When Navarro inadvertently struck Williams with his crutch, Moose hit the Spear to pin the TNA World Champion. So, Moose earned a World Championship match at Emergence. Nygma says: That’s at the same time fair and unfair. Moose pinned Williams; he undeniably earned a title chance. But, at Slammiversary, Williams pinned Hendry, not Santana. So, Santana earned a title chance too.

Feuds and Matches in the Making

“Mentor” Victoria Crawford made the match, Dani Luna and Indi Hartwell facing Jody Threat and NXT’s Arianna Grace. If her goal was to definitely break the Spitfire bond, Crawford won. Luna and Hartwell won the match because Jody Threat proved she was now praying for her parish. Nygma says: Spitfire may be dead, but Dani Luna and Jody Threat are alive and kicking.

Jake Something said he has his sights set on Steve Maclin and the TNA International Championship. Nygma says: I’ve never imagined this storyline would last so long. Jake Something has something to prove, to himself, to the fans, to Maclin. Then, Maclin is a soldier, and Jake Something is on a mission. So, it may be never-ending.

The Nemeths were looking to rebound after losing the TNA World Tag Team Championship at Slammiversary, while The Rascalz were poised to get back into title contention. I saw the smoke (we all saw it). The Nemeths tried to cheat, but that didn’t help them win. The Rascalz have never been closer to a title chance than ever. Nygma says: Heart brothers by heart are often stronger than blood brothers.

After the match, the Nemeths refused to leave the ring. Nic Nemeth said that they will invoke their rematch clause against The Hardys for the TNA World Tag Team Championship at Emergence. Ryan Nemeth disrespected the fans and their home of Rhode Island when The Home Town Man came to their defense. The Nemeths assaulted The Home Town Man and members of security who tried to stop them.

Mara Sadè has arrived in TNA Wrestling and will compete in her first TNA singles match next week.

Order 4 held a Slammiversary Victory Rally. Ali blamed Joe Hendry for the disorder in TNA Wrestling. Hendry poked fun at Order 4 and challenged Ali to a match tonight. Ali said no, but agreed to face him next week instead.

This Bittersweet Symphony

Frankie Kazarian felt disrespected by TNA management after being ejected from ringside during last week’s main event between Mike Santana and Joe Hendry. Nygma says: He is the King of TNA. We bow down to the King, damn.

Mike Santana delivered an emotional speech on the events of last week’s Slammiversary event, where he came up short in his attempt to become TNA World Champion. Santana remained confident that he would capture the TNA World Championship, not if, but when. Nygma says: I told you in the preview…

The Nygma’s Last Word(s)

I am shocked. This episode was good, but I remain in shock. I will take the space of another piece to tell you more about why what Sami Callihan said hit me that hard. That’s way more a Steph thing than a Nygma thing.

Back in the iMPACT Zone, the episode was a wacky race to Emergence. I won’t deny the fact that the five matches were good, because they really were.

Then, TNA Wrestling can make two steps forward and backward at the same time, which is a really unique ability. Reigniting the feud between Jake Something and Steve Maclin is going backward. Making Leon Slater vs Cedric Alexander, it’s going forward.

I’m not the easiest person to please when it comes to wrestling. Old-school and punk lady, at the same time. The 10-week path to Bound For Glory will be eNYGMAtically long and epic. Till next week, may the Nygma be with you.

TNA Emergence 2025 Card (08/15/25)
