TNA iMPACT Preview (8/21/25) – The Fallout From Emergence
Courtesy of TNA Wrestling

The Path to TNA Bound For Glory may be raging on, but Emergence is now behind us, and Victory Road is in 5 weeks. On September 26, 15, a new PLE takes place live from the Minneapolis Centre in Minneapolis, MN. The cards may be reshuffled again, and we have five iMPACT episodes to set the stage for this.

On the August 19 episode of NXT, with WWE Heatwave looming this Sunday, the stakes were high. Before Jacy Jayne defends the TNA Knockouts World Championship against Ash By Elegance and Masha Slamovich this Sunday at WWE Heatwave, Fatal Influence battled The Elegance Brand with  Slamovich as the Special Guest Referee on NXT.

It didn’t take long before The Personal Concierge got involved, prompting Slamovich to eject him from ringside. Ash had Jazmyn Nyx beat following Rarified Air, but Slamovich was distracted by Fallon Henley pummeling M on the announce table. The closing moments saw Jayne take out Ash with the Rolling Encore to win. After the match, Ash confronted Slamovich, leading to a physical altercation between the two.

Later on, DarkState said his name, and Joe Hendry appeared. In the main event, TNA World Champion Trick Williams clashed with Je’Von Evans to determine the No. 1 Contender to Oba Femi’s NXT Championship at WWE Heatwave. Williams immediately went on the attack, nearly pinning Evans with a Trick Kick in the early going.

Then, Williams sent him flying through the air, crashing through the announce table at ringside. This back-and-forth contest came to a close when Mike Santana appeared on the balcony high above the venue, creating a momentary distraction for Williams, allowing Evans to capitalize and score the victory.

Crossing the lines also means crossing the reviews. Victory Road or Bound For Glory may be TNA PLEs, taking a look at what happens on Tuesday nights (and this Sunday night) has become essential to understand what may happen on Thursday nights. After all, the two major TNA titles are still in the hands of NXT talents. What remains terribly eNYGMAtic…

The Stakes at TNA Wrestling

After surviving Moose at TNA Emergence to retain the TNA World Championship, Trick Williams kicks off TNA iMPACT.

Just days before WWE Heatwave, what message will Knockouts & NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne deliver to BOTH divisions?

The Knockouts collide in a Knockouts Gauntlet, but only ONE will earn the title of #1 Contender to the TNA Knockouts World Championship.

After Matt Cardona overcame Mustafa Ali at TNA Emergence, he was ambushed by Order 4. Now he teams with the System to settle the score.

After pushing TNA International Champion Steve Maclin to the limit at TNA Emergence, Jake Something returns to the iMPACT Zone to face Frankie Kazarian.

The Nygma’s View

With three matches and two segments, this TNA iMPACT may seem a little “low”, action-wise. This episode is a fallout from the PLE, probably the first part of it. I’m used to playing with TNA’s own preview to give you my preview, but it was not available at my usual writing time (then, check the TNA Wrestling website, redesigned and splendid).

TNA World Champion NXT’s Trick Williams will kick off the show. What does he have to say? Yes, he defeated Moose at Emergence, but he cheated. Yes, it’s “Trick-NA” time, but it will stop soon. Mike Santana cost him a chance to become NXT Champion on NXT. A follow-up has to happen on iMPACT. Nygma says: Say BORICUA, and he will appear.

TNA Knockouts World Champion NXT’s Jacy Jayne also has some things to say. A few days before WWE Heatwave, we can be certain that she won’t discuss knitting or embroidery. Ash by Elegance and Masha Slamovich should make their presence felt. Nygma says: I’m sure Jacy Jayne may have some interesting things to say about embroidery.

At Emergence, Mustafa Ali lost his match against Matt Cardona. The System saved Matt Cardona from Order 4. Later, First Class defeated the System because of Order 4. So, the System and Order 4 have a problem. In this match, the System has Alisha Edwards, JDC, and Eddie Edwards by its side. Order 4 has Tasha Steelz and the Secret Service. So, Nygma says: And the winner is Agent Zero.

Frankie Kazarian was at ringside to watch Jake Something being defeated by Steve Maclin at Emergence. Kazarian and Something argued backstage after the match. May they want to go their own way, they will have to collide first. Kazarian is the King of TNA, and  Something has shown how strong he is over the last few weeks. Nygma says: Whoever wins, I’m sure the match will be fabulous.

A gauntlet match to determine a new #1 contender for the TNA Knockouts Championship, nice idea. Predicting who will win is not that easy. There are more than 20 Knockouts (singles or teams) in the current roster. Some have been vocal about their desire to become the Champion. I don’t know if ALL the Knockouts will be involved in the match. When I think of the last iMPACT and Emergence, a few names come to my mind. Nygma says: May it be Dani, Jody, or Indi’s time?

I’ll see you on Friday for TNA iMPACT! “After The Bell.” Stay tuned as I talk to the X-Division Champion Leon Slater this Thursday, French night. Till then, may the Nygma be with you.
