2025 is almost over, and to be honest, it was a very down year for WWE. There are so many moments that were absolutely terrible for WWE. Out of all the moments, 5 moments stood out for the wrong reasons in 2025 for WWE.
I’ve said it before and will repeat it: WWE failed John Cena during his retirement year, with a ton of lowlights. Yes, there were some positives, but they wasted a lot of time with this heel run. The heel turn was phenomenal, but the entire heel run was a mess.
It also didn’t work that The Rock pulled a “That doesn’t work for me, brother,” and that Travis Scott straight up disappeared during this story. This heel run will go down as the biggest missed booking opportunity since the 2002 Invasion Angle.
To make things even worse, let’s get to this awful Brock Lesnar match. Lesnar returned to WWE and attacked Cena at SummerSlam 2025. Thus, they set up a match against each other atWrestlepalooza. It was a complete waste of a Cena final match and a failure to counter-produce AEW All Out (2025). The worst part is Cena never got his revenge for being dominated. What a great booking decision, Triple H.
When talking about one of the worst booked female wrestlers in 2025, that easily goes to Giulia, who got called up during this year. She has booked so poorly that it made fans cry. Her United States Championship run is one of the worst ever, as she was barely featured on TV, and even when she was, the matches/feuds were meaningless.
It also didn’t help that they attached Kiana James to her as a manager, and it’s a poor fit. She’s another anchor to Giulia, and it’s a shame how disappointing her main roster debut year has been. She needs to move to Raw for 2026 ASAP.
One of the most disappointing feuds of 2025, in my opinion, was Tiffany Stratton vs Charlotte Flair. The worst part was the buildup, especially in that awkward promo where both went off-script. Especially when Stratton saidFlair was 0-3 in her divorces, and Flair even mocked Stratton for her squeaky voice. You can tell how pissed both women were in the ring. Even in the WWE Unreal documentary, Stratton got heat for it, and it was just so awkward. Going off-script was just a bad look.
Remember all the bad PR that WWE got for releasing R-Truth this year. Well, they decided to bring him back, and he cut this amazing promo on Raw when he returned. Essentially, he was saying to put respect on his name, and it seemed like he was going to get a serious run.
Well, that never happened, as it was quickly forgotten, and not long after, after a quick and forgettable feud with Aleister Black, Truth returned to his comedic gimmick. It was a missed opportunity because WWE could have made a ton of money with this version of R-Truth, but WWE didn’t even try. This is just another example of poor WWE creative, leaving many fans frustrated.
Gosh, WWE had some awful moments, and you could extend this list to a Top 100. Creative was that bad in 2025, and hopefully, this is a wake-up call for Triple H and WWE. Here’s to hoping for a better 2026.
