WWE are building for the future following John Cena's retirement in December 2025 and one of their most highly-rated stars has committed his future to the company. It's an important time for the promotion as they enter the new year and they are starting to indicate who they feel will be major players in years to come.
Logan Paul has been with WWE since 2021 and his mainstream appeal has worked wonders for both the wrestler and the company. He has been pushed as a future star while winning the United States Championship and facing Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship.
The 30-year-old even faced Cena at Clash in Paris last year and had the honor of being one of the 17-time world champion's final opponents. He has confirmed that he's in it for the long run after penning a new long-term deal.
Paul revealed on his Youtube channel:
"I actually just signed my official long-term contract with WWE. Seconds ago. We took espresso shots. I’m officially a full-timer now. All you people saying I’m a part-timer can shut your mouths."
Paul had been criticised for being a part-timer until recently when he started appearing regularly on weekly WWE TV. He joined The Vision in November, a group of young talent viewed as the future of the business.
The social media megastar has earned praise from many for his in-ring abilities, including WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter. He claimed Paul has the potential to eclipse Cena and The Rock as the biggest star the industry has ever seen.
Paul's new deal means he will now be full-time and that will allow WWE to build their future with him in mind. There's no word on the length of the contract, but it seems his main focus is on pro wrestling despite his other ventures, including his Impaulsive podcast.
The Maverick has challenged for WWE's world title on three occasions, firstly back in 2022 at Crown Jewel when he lost to Roman Reigns. He was also beaten by Rhodes at the King and Queen of the Ring in 2024 and Jey Uso at Backlash last year.
While he hasn't been able to claim the biggest prize in pro wrestling he is expected to do so. That's JBL's verdict of the Youtuber whom he was full of praise for last year. He said on the Something to Wrestle with podcast:
"Logan Paul is going to be a world champion. There’s no doubt about it."
He added:
"I’m such a fan of Logan Paul. He’s going to be a great world champion. I mean that. Not only a world champion, he’s going to be a great world champion. That’s gonna make some people mad."
Paul might have to wait a while given his alignment with The Vision, as Bron Breakker is the member who is currently in the title picture. But further down the line, it seems likely he'll be holding a world championship.
