WWE’s women’s divisions on both Raw and SmackDown are reportedly getting major reinforcements, as top NXT stars Stephanie Vaquer and Jordynne Grace are set to join the main roster. According to wrestling insider @Cory_Hays407, Vaquer is expected to become a member of the Raw brand, while Grace is headed to SmackDown.
SHOCKED. STUNNED. SPEECHLESS.JACY JAYNE IS THE NEW NXT WOMEN’S CHAMPION!!! 🤯#WWENXTpic.twitter.com/DSw9Wu938t— WWE (@WWE) May 28, 2025
The news comes after Vaquer lost the Women's NXT Championship on Tuesday night in a surprise twist. This is typically how NXT books departures, as losing a title is often a rite of passage to going up after an NXT run. These call-ups will mark a significant talent shakeup across WWE’s women’s divisions and continue the company’s trend of fast-tracking standout NXT performers. Vaquer and Grace, both of whom have made a substantial impact in NXT in recent months, are being viewed as immediate main-event-level talents on their respective brands.
Vaquer is pegged to be a major star, but nationally and internationally. Grace has a totally unique build and appearance that WWE can capitalize on.
Fans on X (formerly Twitter) have offered mixed reactions to the news. While many are thrilled at the thought of potential dream matches—such as Vaquer vs. Rhea Ripley or Grace vs. Bianca Belair—others are expressing concern about the aggressive "raiding" of NXT talent. The departures of Vaquer and Grace follow a string of similar call-ups in recent months (like Guilia and Roxanne Perez), leading to concern that WWE is disrupting its developmental brand’s momentum.
However, NXT might be getting a big name in Mariah May from AEW. There is speculation that she might be heading to WWE, despite her confirmation that she's still employed by AEW and currently on vacation. Outside of that, some of the talent on the main roster could make appearances in NXT. There is also a chance that the new partnership with AAA could showcase female talents that could benefit from national exposure.
Still, the move signals WWE’s continued investment in refreshing its main roster and elevating new stars. With Vaquer and Grace now seemingly set for high-profile runs on WWE’s biggest stages, the women’s divisions are poised for a summer of significant change.
