If there was one wrestler in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) who is arguably one of the best younger talents, Hook’s name is definitely on that list. After all, he is 26 years old and has had some memorable moments and matches in the company. He still has a great deal of potential, and AEW could utilize him. Well, he is going to have plenty more memories to make as he has signed a new deal with AEW.

The Details Of the Contract

The amount of money he will make in the deal is not confirmed, but from many reports, it is a multi-year contract. Usually, when a deal is deemed multi-year, it’s typically in the 3-5 year range. No matter what, Hook is not going to go anywhere anytime soon with his new deal.

Where Has Hook Been?

Hook has not been seen on AEW TV for a while now, and many fans wondered where he had been. Many believed it was due to contract negotiations, but that is not 100% the case. He was dealing with a serious concussion that resulted in him taking time off from TV. Concussions are no joke, and that explains his absence from AEW TV. It was a blessing in disguise because of the lack of a creative plan with him. He was a background character at the 2025 Double or Nothing PPV.

There Clearly Was WWE Interest

One clear thing was that WWE had an interest in Hook. It is hard not to blame them as Hook is young, is a second-generation superstar, and is one of AEW’s brightest prospects. He would have been a perfect fit in NXT and would have been a big star in WWE. Along with how Ethan Page and Jade Cargill have been booked, WWE would have given Hook that level of a push.

It is obvious that Hook used it to his advantage to get a better deal with AEW. That is smart because in negotiating, he has the upper hand. This is why competition is always a good thing in pro wrestling. It gives the wrestlers options to make more money.

Final Thoughts

AEW has been on a signing frenzy lately. They already locked up both Matt Menard and Kota Ibushi to new contracts. It was only a matter of time before they locked Hook up. After all, he is the future of AEW, and they need to keep him. In signing him, that pretty much means Tazz is not going anywhere either, which is a big positive, as he is great as a commentator. Hopefully, AEW has a plan to put Hook on TV soon. Total Apex Sports covers pro wrestling news, injuries, etc.
