Is the Undertaker coming out of retirement? That's what fans are asking on Sunday afternoon as The Deadman posted a photo montage of old pics from his Cinematic match with AJ Styles. The Undertaker didn't add commentary to the post, but fans ran with the idea that the WWE legend might be teasing a return.

It is an odd post, to say the least. Out of nowhere, The Undertaker -- who has said many times that he's not in any sort of physical condition to return to the ring as a wrestler -- posted photos of the one match he could theoretically pull off. A cinematic match, much like the one he had with Styles at WrestleMania 36, allows WWE to produce the match in a way that doesn't force the Undertaker to stress himself physically. The match isn't live, thus camera tricks and doubles, or other techniques could be used to accentuate his bout, or hide things he can no longer physically do.
It's literally the only way WWE and The Undertaker can put him back in a match, draw in fans, but not tarnish his legacy -- something he publicly stated he worried about with some duds in the final years of his career.
"If Takers coming out of retirement give me one of these matches," one fan wrote, while sharing photos of Gunther and Drew McIntyre. Another said, "Kingdom of Saudi Arabia wants a Taker vs AJ Boneyard rematch, and they shall have it."
One fan tossed out the idea of a rematch being a retirement match. "AJ Styles getting his second shot at Taker in a boneyard match? Loser retires for good?" The theory here would be to piggyback off of Styles' recent comments that his own run as a competitor will be coming to an end.
Some fans cautioned (politely) The Undertaker not to go through with whatever he might be teasing. "I love you, man, but please stay retired," tweeted someone on the thread.
Is this the Undertaker just offering a callback to something he remembers fondly? Or, is he teasing something that WWE might have in the works? For all anyone knows, the company might be planning a different cinematic match that has nothing do with him. He was simply the last person to have one.
