Undertaker Praises Cena vs. Styles Match as 'Masterclass'
Bronson Reed WWE Crown Jewel 2025

One match that stood out during this Saturday’s (October 11) WWE PLE, Crown Jewel: Perth was John Cena vs. AJ Styles. It was the match that Cena should have had at the first WWE PLE in the ESPN era. Instead, Brock Lesnar made a mockery of his career at Wrestlepalooza, by dominating the match. Anyway, this Crown Jewel match has even caught the attention of WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker.

The Undertaker Praises John Cena’s Crown Jewel Match

The Deadman took to X, previously Twitter, this morning to praise the match that happened at the RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. Taker has faced both of them in his long career. His last match was actually against Styles at WrestleMania 36. It was a Boneyard Match. While his last match he had with Cena was at WrestleMania 34, where he defeated Cena in less than 3 minutes. He said:

“Thank you @JohnCena and thank you @AJStylesOrg. A masterclass and beautiful tribute to wrestling. The #WWEUniverse said it…but that was AWESOME!”

Today’s match ended with Cena winning, marking his 100th PLE victory. He defeated Styles by first hitting him with a Tombstone Piledriver and then an AA. After Cena got the win over The Phenomenal One, he helped him up, and they hugged, which made the Perth crowd go crazy.

The match marks the near end of Cena’s career, and now AJ’s career too. As noted, Styles announced that he is retiring in 2026, while Cena’s last match is set for December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C.

Other Matches At Crown Jewel

Bronson Reed WWE Crown Jewel 2025

What else happened at Crown Jewel: Perth? Well, the PLE kicked off with Bronson Reed vs. Roman Reigns. Reed would get the win over Reigns, due to Jey Uso accidentally spearing Roman Reigns through a table, leading to Reed getting the pin at the Australian Street Fight.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins defeated Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to become the Men’s Crown Jewel Champion, while WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer defeated WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton to become the Women’s Crown Jewel Champion.

After weeks of harassment, Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY finally got their revenge on Asuka and Kairi Sane. In the end, it was a pretty good PLE, and it seemed to have the crowd’s attention. WWE’s next PLE is Survivor Series: WarGames, which is set for Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Petco Park in San Diego, California.
