WWE underwent several releases this weekend, letting nearly a dozen performers go from NXT and the main roster. Among the cuts were Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Shotzi, Shayna Baszler and Cora Jade. Now, current and active WWE talents are reacting to the releases.

There is also an interesting update regarding the status of WWE Superstar Shotzi. It's being pegged as "a very unique, odd, situation..."

WWE Performers Weigh In And Send Messages To Released Talents

  • WWE performers react to recent releases with heartfelt messages and support.
  • Dakota Kai attracting interest from other companies post-WWE release.
  • Unclear status of Shotzi with reports suggesting she may have been let go despite not being in the initial list of releases.

While some of the released talents are already commenting on social media, many performers still with WWE are weighing in. Among them, Iyo Sky sent a heartfelt message to her former Damage CTRL faction-mate in Dakota Kai. She wrote, "She is so much sweet, strong, kind, smart, wonderful, and beautiful woman. My dearest and best friend. I love you. Everyone loves you." While she'll have a non-compete clause prohibiting her from showing up with another promotion for 90 days, Dakota Kai has already gained the interest of outside companies and top agents in professional wrestling following her release from WWE. Reports are that Kai will receive plenty of offers.

Former WWE star and husband of Chelsea Green, Matt Cardona, wrote, "To the recently released, You have three choices… 1) Fade into obscurity 2) Coast off of your WWE name 3) Work your a-- off, reinvent yourself, make a lot of money, and have a lot of f---ing fun! Love, The Indy God."

While referencing the releases, Naomi took a shot at Jade Cargill. She wrote, "If I was doing releases I would have kept everyone and just released @Jade_Cargill." Some fans suggested this was in poor taste, but it goes along with Naomi's new heel persona.

Shotzi's Status In WWE Unclear

An interesting update: reports indicate that Shotzi has been moved to the alumni section of WWE's website. Her profile still lists "NXT." and Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reports that as of yesterday, "people internally had not heard of her departure. I've followed up with WWE."

Shotzi wasn't among the initial list of WWE releases but the feeling is that something might be going on and as other talents are revealed to have been cut on Saturday, fans will have to wait to see if she is among them.
