A key update has been made on an AEW star's contract and whether or not she is WWE bound.

As of late, WWE has scooped up a bevy of former AEW talents. Some big names that WWE has acquired are Penta, Fenix, Ricky Saints, and Ethan Page. The company has also reportedly signed Miro and Malakai Black, both of whom had a run with WWE before jumping ship to AEW.

Fightful has an update to its report that former AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May is in her contract year. Rumors have surfaced claiming that May's ultimate goal is to sign with WWE, and she might be heading to the promotion. That rumor has been disputed, as many within AEW are of the belief that May is simply using leverage to get the best deal.

It was noted by Sean Ross Sapp that the biggest surprise about May's contract situation is the fact that the length of the deal wasn't longer, given her massive push on "AEW Dynamite" and "AEW Collision." May recently lost a "Hollywood Ending" match against "Timeless" Toni Storm at "AEW Revolution."

The report also mentioned that May has not been seen at AEW shows since her match with Storm on March 9. May reportedly has several months left on her AEW deal. Rumors of May being a lock for WWE and claims that she's already on an internal roster list for the company have been debunked.

May and her management team declined to comment on the story when asked by Fightful.
