There are just three months left in John Cena 's iconic WWE career, with it set to end on December 13 at Saturday Night's Main Event. The assumption among wrestling media and fans has been that his last match would fittingly happen in his hometown of Boston (Cena was born in West Newbury, Massachusetts), but in a release from WWE today, it was announced that John Cena's final Boston appearance will be happening in November. Instead, you'll last see John Cena in a ring in Washington, D.C.
In an article released by WWE, the company announced that John Cena's final Boston appearance will take place on November 10. Along with that, he will be in New York City's Madison Square Garden for the final time a week later on November 17. Both of these dates are for Monday Night Raw episodes.
The statement reads, in part:
WWE, part of TKO Group Holdings, today announced that 17-time World Champion John Cena will make his final appearances in Boston and New York City when Monday Night Raw heads to TD Garden on Monday, Nov. 10, and Madison Square Garden on Monday, Nov. 17, as part of his farewell tour which comes to an end this December.
Tickets for each event will go on sale starting Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT. Fans can purchase tickets during an exclusive presale by visiting Ticketmaster.com starting Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT.

According to WrestleVotes, a trusted source who is often right, John Cena's final match is set for the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

There is a lot of mystery about how John Cena's last match will go down. With him being arguably the greatest superstar in WWE, and the wrestler with more world title wins than anyone else in history, his final outing should match his popularity, but there are many questions. Part of that revolves around just who his final opponent could be. He's already faced Cody Rhodes twice, taken on names from his past such as Randy Orton and CM Punk, and will face Brock Lesnar soon. Adam Copeland is in AEW, so he's out, leading many to believe that Cena will use his last match to put over the next generation with a rising name such as Bron Breakker.
John Cena won't be having his last match at WrestleMania, it doesn't look like it will be against an iconic name (unless something crazy happens like The Rock shows up), and now it won't be in his hometown of Boston either. Instead, it will be on Saturday Night's Main Event, which won't even be on NBC, as it will now air exclusively on Peacock. That might feel like a letdown, but thankfully, it looks like WWE has a plan to do something big with the moment.

WWE has been trying to push John Cena’s last match as a destination weekend, with other events set around the Saturday Night’s Main Event taping. This would, according to bidding documents from earlier this year, include a events like an Undertaker One-Man show.
