Watch: ‘BETRAYED’ Kevin Owens punched by Randy Orton after latter attempts to separate him from Cody Rhodes on SmackDown
Saul Young/News Sentinel / USA TODAY NETWORK

On the latest episode of SmackDown, Kevin Owens finally addressed what transpired after Bad Blood. Owens was not happy at being labeled a ‘betrayer’. The Prizefighter got on commentary to imply that it was Cody Rhodes who had turned on him. This prompted the latter to come out, as security and officials separated the two sides. Moments later, Randy Orton arrived to defuse the situation between his friends.

After calming Rhodes down, Orton attempted to talk with Owens as well. However, KO inadvertently elbowed The Viper. In response, Orton punched the former Universal Champion, who lay in the corner in shock. Owens slid under the ring and went to the back. Meanwhile, Orton affirmed to the officials that he was alright.

The past few weeks have been tense for the trio. After Rhodes chose to team with Roman Reigns , Owens began showing signs of a heel turn. Despite Orton’s best efforts, Owens eventually turned on The American Nightmare. Following Cody’s win at Bad Blood, KO brutally assaulted him in the parking lot and turned heel for the first time since 2022.

Obviously, the 40-year-old feels in the right for what he did. After years of his tussle with Reigns and The Bloodline, Kevin Owens watched on as his friend joined forces with the enemy. Moreover, Cody Rhodes standing side-by-side with his longtime rival seemingly sent him over the edge. As for his scramble with Orton, Owens didn’t take long to respond to the veteran ‘picking sides’ in this fight.

Kevin Owens attacked Randy Orton backstage following intense segment on SmackDown

After getting punched by Randy Orton, it didn’t take long for Kevin Owens to seek revenge in his own way. Later on the show, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis called for security as he caught KO assaulting Orton backstage.

The Prizefighter attacked his only remaining ally on the roster because he “picked sides” when he punched him inside the ring. Emotions got the better of Owens, who continues to burn every bridge on SmackDown. Cody Rhodes has yet to respond to Owens’ actions.

The Undisputed WWE Champion has a lot on his plate at the moment. In addition to this drama, Rhodes is preparing to take on arguably the toughest challenge of his reign so far. The American Nightmare will face Gunther on November 2 to crown the inaugural Crown Jewel Champion.
