Watch: Sami Zayn accidentally wipes out Roman Reigns at WWE Crown Jewel

On Saturday, the Battle of the Bloodlines opened WWE's Crown Jewel Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia. Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns took on Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga in a trios tag-team match.

As expected with any Bloodline match, the action eventually broke down, with the referee taking a couple of bumps. Once the official could not call foul play, things went awry for the OTC and the Uso's, leading to Sikoa nailing Reigns with a couple of Samoan spikes before securing the pin to win the match.

However, what happened after the bell is what will leave fans talking, guessing and making predictions ahead of this week's RAW and Smackdown.

Just when it looked like Jey Uso was done for, lying in the corner with a chair around his neck, Sami Zayn came to the rescue. Despite some overtures from Sikoa for Zayn to join his new Bloodline, Zayn stuck by his friend, Jey.

With Zayn's fresh legs, the Uso's and Reigns quickly rallied to clear the ring, leaving Sikoa isolated. However, as both Zayn and Reigns went for the final blow, Sikoa ducked out of the way, leading to a collision that left the OTC lying on the floor.

Zayn didn't intend to hit Reigns; it was clear he was aiming for Sikoa. However, that likely won't matter. Reigns isn't known for being forgiving, especially concerning mistakes.

However, the original Bloodline is still one member short. Sikoa can win based on the numbers game. Zayn is the rightful fourth member, having spent a successful period (from a fan and merchandise perspective) with the group.

While the future of the Bloodline story arc is far from clear, having Zayn and Reigns end the opening segment was a masterstroke, especially as these groups likely won't open a card again. Instead, they will be back on the main event.
