DC’s superhero series Peacemaker is gearing up to start filming, with a release date not far behind.

That’s according to Peacemaker actress Jennifer Holland (Emilia Harcourt in the show) who responded to a fan on Instagram asking if a second season was in the works.

“Yessss we start filming this summer! It’s gonna be so gooooood,” said Holland.

If it follows the regular timescale of series filmed in the summer, that puts the Peacemaker Season 2 release date in Fall 2025.

Like the first season, which premiered January 13, 2022 on Max, we can likely expect eight episodes.

Created by James Gunn, who’s now DC co-CEO, Peacemaker is a spinoff of 2021's Suicide Squad movie. John Cena plays Peacemaker, a mercenary forced to join a mysterious black ops squad on a mission to eliminate parasites who have taken over human bodies around the world.

The Suicide Squad director doesn't helm this one, however. James Gunn is busy sharing inspirations for Superman: Legacy.
