Liv Morgan won the Royal Rumble and earned a shot at the World Title. She has been making this feud with Stephanie Vaquer very personal, especially after Vaquer ran through her sidekicks in the Judgment Day, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, and even slapped her love interest, Dirty Dom, across the face.
The biggest highlights in this feud thus far are encapsulated by this thematic idea that Liv Morgan is privileged with WWE training, whilst Vaquer went through tougher roads in the indies to even get to the WWE.
Naomi was actually the original plan to hold this title going into Mania before she had to relinquish it due to pregnancy and maternity leave. WWE pivoted and made Stephanie Vaquer the face of the brand in a long-term feud with the Judgment Day.
Considering that WWE had 8 months to plant seeds and figure out a Plan B, they did a decent job with setting up this title match. And, at WrestleMania 42, Liv Morgan should become a 3-time World Champion. Here is why she should dethrone Stephanie Vaquer.
It is questionable as to why Liv Morgan, an impeccable in-ring worker with peak storytelling abilities, never won on the main show at WrestleMania. She was relegated to battle royals at ‘Mania 34 and 35 and lost in tag matches with Ruby Riott, Rhea Ripley, Raquel Rodriguez at ‘Mania 37, 38, 39, and 41.
Morgan never had a singles world title match at Mania in her entire career and thereby never got her ‘Mania Moment. It is long overdue for her to get her well-deserved flowers under the brightest lights, where it matters most.
Besides, Vaquer can take a loss here. In just one calendar year, she already held the NXT North American, NXT Title, and WWE World Title. Statistically, she is the fastest rising star in recent memory, especially after holding the world title for 8 months thus far.
Usually, a rising star from NXT would not get the rocket strapped to them that quickly, but Vaquer has already run through so many heel challengers on Raw that there are not many contender options left to keep her title reign fresh and interesting any longer.
On the other hand, Liv Morgan has some juicy storylines awaiting her in the Judgment Day. Throughout the year, there has been continuous dissension in that group, as Finn Balor and Dirty Dom are not the only ones who have issues.
Liv screwed Raquel in her title matches with Vaquer, even when Raquel told her to stay in the back. Liv was even unable to coexist with Roxanne to win the tag titles from Rhiyo due to their prior beef in the love triangle with Dirty Dom. With Liv as champ, this feud would light a fire on Raw.
