Why Lola Vice Should Become the Next WWE NXT Women’s Champion

Jacy Jayne captured the NXT Women’s Championship in May in a surprise victory against Stephanie Vaquer. Since then, she has defended her belt on NXT television, house shows, and PLE’s in very dominant fashion. Her next defense will come at NXT No Mercy on Saturday against Lola Vice.

A triple threat number one contenders match took place last month at NXT Heatwave. Vice defeated Jaida Parker and Kelani Jordan to earn the match at No Mercy. Her last chance at the NXT Women’s Championship came at last year’s NXT Heatwave, but she lost to Roxanne Perez. Since then, she has achieved several impressive victories and has made significant growth as a wrestler.

She’ll definitely walk into Saturday’s match with more confidence and ability than she did last year. For several reasons, Vice deserves to walk out of No Mercy as the new NXT Women’s Champion.

Championship Gold Has Eluded Vice So Far in NXT

Vice entered NXT with an insane amount of hype brought on by some legitimate fighting credentials. She spent three years fighting for Bellator MMA. During that time, she had a 4-1 record with two knockouts. She also is a black belt in Taekwondo, proving that she has actual fighting ability.

It seems like with her background, a championship title reign should’ve been easy to obtain. However, she hasn’t tasted victory in that matter yet. She has competed for several different championships during her time in NXT but hasn’t gotten the job done to earn the victory. It’s clear that she is tired of falling short time after time after much success in MMA.

No Mercy will also be held in Florida, where she was born and raised. Her family will be in attendance, so that will also motivate her to win a championship for the first time.

A Fatal Influence Lineup Change Could Prove Costly

Since last July, Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx has been by Jayne’s side as Fatal Influence, running interference and helping her in key matches. However, tensions brewed between Jayne and Nyx after the former lost the TNA Knockouts World Championship to Ash by Elegance.

On the September 23, 2025 episode of NXT, Nyx was found attacked backstage. Jayne and Henley left her lying there, and it was later reported that she was leaving WWE. That leaves Vice with one less woman to deal with on Saturday. If she gets caught by Henley, but overpowers her, Nyx won’t be there. It will just be the two combatants without anyone else left to interfere and help Jayne retain her championship.

With factions, the more people there are, the more chance of success there will be. Nyx leaving the group could be the difference between Jayne losing and Vice winning.

Vice Has a Realistic Chance of Winning Her First Championship

In title matches, there are some matchups that are obviously going to end in a retention for the champion. But Jayne vs. Vice doesn’t seem like the type of match that will go that way. For three years, Vice has been battling impressive opponents, learning valuable skills and becoming a great wrestler. But she still hasn’t captured a championship just yet, which has been on her mind for a long time.

She’ll also be wrestling in front of her family, so that will provide extra motivation for her. On the champion’s side, Nyx’s contract expiration could prove disastrous for Jayne. Instead of two women backing her up, there will be one. That puts her at a huge disadvantage if Henley gets taken out. Jayne has had a good reign so far, but if she isn’t careful, she will lose her championship to a deserving Vice.
