As excitement builds for WWE Royal Rumble 2026 on January 31, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, fans have been wondering whether Seth Rollins, one of WWE’s biggest stars, will make an appearance or compete in the men’s Rumble match.
Despite hope among fans, Seth Rollins has confirmed that he will not participate in the 2026 Royal Rumble match. On the ESPN morning show Get Up, he was asked about his availability for the January 31 event and made it clear that he won’t be ready to compete in Riyadh due to ongoing recovery from his shoulder injury.
Rollins acknowledged that while he would love to be there and potentially enter the Rumble, his doctors haven’t cleared him to wrestle yet, so his participation in the match isn’t going to happen this time.
The Architect said, “Shoulder’s doing good, man, it’s doing good. I don’t know if it’s good enough to get me in the ring this Saturday in Riyadh for the Royal Rumble, but we’re on track for a return sometime sooner rather than later.”
Rollins underwent shoulder surgery in October 2025 after suffering a torn rotator cuff, and he’s been out of action ever since. At the time of the injury, WWE announced he’d be sidelined for approximately four to six months, roughly aligning with WrestleMania season rather than Royal Rumble weekend.
Although Rollins won’t be in the Royal Rumble match itself, he remains optimistic about returning to WWE action soon. In a recent interview, he indicated that his recovery is progressing and that he hopes to return before WrestleMania 42 in April 2026.
While Seth Rollins remains one of WWE’s biggest stars, he won’t compete at the 2026 Royal Rumble in Riyadh due to ongoing recovery from a significant shoulder injury and medical clearance limitations. Rollins has been out since October 2025 after surgery and has set his sights on a return later in the WrestleMania season rather than at the January 31 event.
