Will Trick Melo Gang or DIY Win Their NXT Homecoming Match?

NXT Homecoming will be a special episode that NXT fans do not want to miss. Current wrestlers will be facing off against legendary faces that made an impact during their time on the brand. Former stars like Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer, and Tyler Breeze will be wrestling some of the brand’s stars of today at Full Sail University. NXT taped their television show there until the COVID pandemic hit in 2020.

Since then, they have taped their shows at the WWE Performance Center. One anticipated match happening next Tuesday is Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams vs. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. This match represents the two major eras of NXT. Hayes and Williams represent the 2.0 and current era, while Gargano and Ciampa are black and gold legends. Will Trick Melo Gang have a successful reunion, or will DIY crash their party with a victory of their own?

Trick Melo Gang Will Use Their Team Up to Their Advantage

For many years, Hayes and Williams were a dominant duo in NXT. Starting in the NXT 2.0 days, they were top faces of the brand for a long time. They won many matches and championships when they were a team. However, things quickly devolved downward once Williams started to experience success on his own. Hayes’ betrayal at Vengeance Day last year is still vividly remembered by fans.

Williams defeated Hayes in a steel cage match at Stand & Deliver months later. That was their last interaction until the September 9, 2025 episode of NXT, where Hayes returned to back up Williams in his fight against DIY. They probably remember the bad blood they had for each other. But when a former friend is threatened, putting things aside is best for the victory. Trick Melo Gang can win if they focus on the present instead of the past.

DIY’s Fan Support Will Help Them in the Match

Gargano and Ciampa are synonymous with NXT for a very good reason. They helped mold NXT into a proper third brand, spending years in Florida putting out good matches and elevating talent to the stars they are today. Both of them got ovations during their last matches as NXT wrestlers. Gargano gave a speech after his last match, and Ciampa got personally recognized by Shawn Michaels after his.

There’s no question that DIY means a lot to NXT, which is why the fans love them so much. Yes, they had their ups and downs just like Trick Melo Gang. But they reunited and proved that friends don’t have to stay enemies forever. The pop they got when they returned to confront Williams showed that the fans haven’t forgotten about them. If DIY lean on the fans, they could have enough strength to get the victory for themselves.

Which Tag Team Will Get the Victory Next Week?

The tag team match between Trick Melo Gang and DIY is a clash between two of NXT’s most memorable teams. Williams, Hayes, Gargano, and Ciampa all have great accolades on their own, including capturing many championships. But their partnerships and team ups with each other are what make them so memorable to the fans. For Trick Melo Gang, Williams and Hayes get to reunite as friends for potentially one final time in NXT.

But for DIY, Gargano and Ciampa come back to an NXT crowd that will never forget what they did for the brand. All four men are some of the brand’s best, an accomplishment reserved for wrestlers who truly made an impact on NXT. Having this match next Tuesday is a must-see for all NXT fans. No matter who wins, they get to see two amazing teams wrestle each other for ultimate era supremacy.
