Wrestling fans have been dreading this moment for a long time but it's finally here. On Saturday night, John Cena will appear in his final WWE match.
Cena, a 17-time World Champion, will take on "The Ring General" Gunther in his farewell match. Gunther earned this incredible honor by winning the Last Time is Now Tournament. We're not sure if Cena will turn back the clock and dish out "Ruthless Aggression" this weekend, but he should have no issue putting on a show with Gunther.
There were rumblings that Cena's match against Gunther would kick off Saturday Night’s Main Event. He shut that rumor down while on "The Pat McAfee Show" this Friday.
"We’re last. I don’t know how the rumor started," Cena said. "I think some folks with credibility like to kick the hornet’s nest every once in a while and get people chattering. I understand we’re in the age of information, so it’s gotta keep my attention. ‘You’re not last?’ Sure, that’ll keep my attention for a few hot clicks. I don’t know how it started. It’s difficult to conceptualize that.”
Despite this being Cena's final WWE match, it won't be available on national television. Instead, it'll be streamed exclusively on Peacock at 7:30 p.m. ET.
It's also worth noting that Saturday Night Main Event will stream on YouTube internationally.
Cena's match won't be the only one on Saturday's card. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will take on NXT Champion Oba Femi. Additionally, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee will fight Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater in a tag team match.
Of course, Cena's final match is the main attraction. Will you be tuning in?
