WWE 2K26 Update Makes Big Changes To Ringside Pass And DLC Unlock Requirements

There was a dark cloud hanging over WWE 2K26 when it launched earlier this month. That dark cloud was its Ringside Pass, a new battle pass-based system that requires fans to play to unlock its DLC, even after they've already paid for it. 2K has heard your complaints, and the game's 1.07 update has made some big changes to how the Ringside Pass will work moving forward.

WWE 2K26 Update Makes DLC Superstars Much Easier To Unlock

The biggest change is to the way DLC Superstars will be unlocked. To ensure you added all four new Superstars to your roster each season, you previously needed to unlock the first 20 tiers on the premium track of the Ringside Pass. That will no longer be the case, and all four new Superstars each season will be unlocked via tier one.

That means they should unlock as soon as the season begins if you already have the premium pass, or they will unlock as soon as you buy it if you don't.

Aside from the DLC stars being locked behind the first 20 tiers of each season's pass, one of the other big complaints from 2K26 players was just how much they've been required to grind to progress through the first pass and unlock anything. That has also been addressed via the 1.07 patch.

Ringside Pass Progression Will Require Less RXP Starting In Season Two

Starting with season two, the amount of RXP needed to complete a tier will be reduced from 800 to 625. The value of RXP boosts will also be increased, which means, while a boost is active, you will accrue RXP even faster, and therefore move through the tiers and unlock the items and cosmetics behind them even quicker.

To make up for the early grind, all current and future players are being given enough RXP to immediately unlock the first 20 tiers of 2K26's season one Ringside Pass. What's more, anyone who installs 2K26, links their 2K account, and plays the game before April 14, 2026, will be awarded the same when season two begins. Season two will begin the day after, on April 15.

All positive and very welcome changes that should make playing WWE 2K26 a more enjoyable experience rather than something you have to play for X hours a day to make sure you unlock everything it has to offer. The DLC changes, in particular, will please fans who were peeved that they didn't have immediate access to the new stars even after having paid for them. It also means we won't have to go looking for workarounds that 2K then has to patch out, such as the loophole where people were beating up Eric Bischoff over and over to rack up RXP fast.
