WWE Clash at the Castle 2024: Predictions for every match in Scotland

WWE Clash at the Castle has little prior history. The only previous edition took place two years ago in Wales, meaning the 2024 version is free to chart its course.

WWE is going for quality over quantity at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, with only five matches on the card. But with a championship at stake for everyone and four Scots among the challengers, the fans in attendance should eat up what's being presented.

Here's a quick look at what to expect from each Clash at the Castle 2024 match.

Bayley (c) vs. Piper Niven: WWE Women's Championship match

Acting like you're being overlooked is an interesting way to provoke a champion, but it's worked for Niven. She's one of the aforementioned Scots, and the crowd will certainly be in her corner even though Bayley is a strong fan favorite in her own right.

Alas, Bayley has only held her WWE Women's Championship since WrestleMania, which feels a little early for her to drop it. She'll help make Niven look like a threat and give her decent offense, but it would be a wild upset if Bayley lost.

Winner: Bayley

Sami Zayn (c) vs. Chad Gable: WWE Intercontinental Championship match

It's fun when the match with the most natural heat is also the one that's the biggest candidate to steal the show, and that's the case here. Since helping Zayn defeat Gunther at WrestleMania, Gable's heel turn has been masterfully done, even as you could see it coming.

Because Gunther had such a long run, it's okay for Zayn to be a transitional champion, and Gable has done so much excellent work both with Alpha Academy and on his own that it's time for him to be rewarded. Look for one of WWE's underrated talents to strike gold in Scotland.

Winner: Chad Gable

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. AJ Styles: "I Quit" match for the Undisputed WWE Championship

No reason to overthink this one. Styles got fans going with his faux retirement, which was only a ruse to get himself in position for a shot at Rhodes. It played well because the 47-year-old really is nearing the end of his stellar career.

But no one expects Rhodes to lose this after all the time and energy WWE put into establishing him as the face of the company, and it'd be a legitimate shock if he did.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill (c) vs. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn vs. Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark: WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match

Belair and Cargill are like superheroes, so it will take a Herculean effort to make fans think they could lose their titles. The Triple Threat format helps a little in that regard, and Fyre and Dawn should draw energy from their countrymen in the crowd, but it's hard to envision a title change here.

Winners: Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill

Damian Priest (c) vs. Drew McIntyre: World Heavyweight Championship match

McIntyre has done his best character work ever, and while it seemed like the first Clash at the Castle might be his shot to finally win a world title in front of a packed stadium, this setting works even better. It's simply his time.

There's a definite possibility that CM Punk could intervene, but likely not in a way that costs McIntyre his moment. The potential for an incredible McIntyre-Punk feud over the rest of 2024 is just icing on the cake.

Winner: Drew McIntyre
