WWE has never been shy about taking swings on unconventional characters, but Danhausen might be the most uniquely bizarre personality to land on Monday Night Raw in years.
The self-proclaimed "very nice, very evil" superstar made his WWE debut at Elimination Chamber in Chicago. For many fans, it was their very first introduction to a character who has been captivating wrestling audiences for years. If you already know what he brings to the table, buckle up anyway. If you don't — you're in for something.
Danhausen curses people. Strange things happen to those people. And somehow, against all conventional wrestling logic, it works every single time.
Danhausen is certainly a character who goes against the grain when it comes to who WWE has signed and placed directly on the main roster.
His interaction with the Judgment Day on Raw is exactly the kind of storytelling opportunity that makes this signing so intriguing. Don't expect it to be a one-time cameo.
Think of Danhausen as a walking black cloud. He shows up randomly, targets his victim, and then sits back and watches the chaos unfold. That's the beauty of the gimmick — he doesn't have to throw a single punch for things to go sideways for whoever has crossed him.
Another tactic in his arsenal is the jar of teeth. At Elimination Chamber, Danhausen handed announcer Michael Cole a jar of his signature teeth — and if you know anything about how his curses operate, that's not a gift you want to receive.
Can you imagine having someone like that following you around? A lurking, grinning menace who shows up at the worst possible moment and makes bad things happen just by being there? That's Danhausen in a nutshell.

Expect Danhausen to pop up and play with the minds of whoever he curses next. The goofiness and the curses are the heart of his gimmick.
WWE's use of him on Raw was a superb showcase of the character and exactly the kind of mind games this gimmick was built for.
Danhausen is a capable wrestler, but here's the thing — he had fewer than 10 televised matches for AEW in two years. That's notable when you consider AEW puts far more matches on television than WWE does.
That tells you everything about how he's been used and how WWE intends to use him going forward.
He roams around, issues curses, and chaos follows. Just ask Dominik Mysterio, who is now one title lighter after Raw.
Danhausen is not in WWE to tear the house down in a five-star match. He is here to be a problem. A very nice, very evil problem that nobody on the roster sees coming until it's already too late.
