Penta was revealed as the latest member of the WWE roster on the Netflix premiere. This gives us an unlimited supply of WWE dream matches for masked Penta.
Triple H seemingly confirmed that Penta will be the mystery luchador to face Chad Gable on WWE Raw on January 13, 2025. While not necessarily a dream match, this is certainly a highly anticipated bout.
Gable and Penta are both phenomenal workers in the ring. There’s probably nobody better to help introduce Penta to the WWE audience than Gable.
Once Penta has hit his Fear Factor package piledriver on Gable – hopefully directly onto the logo for Hulk Hogan’s Real American Beer – there are many Penta dream matches in WWE for us to salivate over. Let’s digest a few.

Penta is a luchador who has gone by many names. Pentagon Jr., Pentagon Dark, Penta El Zero Miedo, Penta Oscuro. Regardless of the name, he’s held titles in AEW, Impact, Ring of Honor, MLW, and his native Mexico in AAA.
He’s not like any luchador WWE has experienced. Masked and high-flying, yes. But also dark and vicious.
He has no fear. Or, as he would put it, ‘zero miedo’.
He can chop as hard as Gunther, kick as well as Jey Uso, and fly through the air like Rey Mysterio. He’s got a package piledriver to make Kevin Owens wince and has a destroyer so hard that, if John Cena took it, that could be the end of his Retirement Tour.
In AEW, he was used largely in the tag team division where, along with his brother Rey Fenix, he had some of the best matches in the company’s history. The Lucha Bros’ cage match against The Young Bucks was a match of the year for 2021.
In WWE, Penta will be introduced as a solo competitor and will look to grab the attention of the almost 5 million WWE Raw viewers. There are a few hints at the WWE dream matches for Penta. Let’s dig a little deeper.
Rey Mysterio is recognized as the greatest luchador in WWE history. The 50-year-old is currently head of the LWO and will open his arms to Penta in WWE.
If Penta rejected Mysterio, it would create the perfect storyline for a WrestleMania 41 match. It allows Penta to stand on his own and reflects that he is a darker luchador than we are used to. As part of the build, this would also give us Dragon Lee vs. Penta on WWE Raw.
Mysterio faced Penta in Lucha Underground in 2016, and they have been on separate sides of the ring in various tag matches. But they’ve never had a high-profile match. Penta has also grown a lot since they last shared the ring.
Mysterio hasn’t faced any luchador with Penta’s talent in WWE. This could allow Penta and Mysterio to have the greatest lucha libre contest in WWE history at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
Penta is a rare creature in the same way as Gunther in being able to dish out and receive huge amounts of pain. Don’t let the luchador background deceive you. If you put Gunther and Penta in a ring together, it’ll bring out Gunther and Sheamus levels of brutality.
I want this match almost solely so we can see Penta do his Zero Miedo finger thing and Cena respond by doing his corny ‘I’m afraid’ face. Also, I’d love to see Cena and Penta trade destroyers exactly how the latter did with Orange Cassidy in AEW. Just to see Twitter actually explode.
Cena claims his losing streak means he can’t expect a major championship shot. If he’s truthful about that feeling, he should start at the bottom, and there’s no better place than with the newest WWE superstar.
I remember when Penta & Orange Cassidy did all those Canadian Destroyers and WWE fans went berserk over it OH……but now it’s cool if he’d did it in WWE pic.twitter.com/x4DY5SajIZ

Honestly. Need I say more?
If Penta does embed himself snuggly under the wing of Mysterio and the LWO, it should, at least, lead to a feud with The Judgement Day. Carlito, JD McDonagh, or Dominik Mysterio are not the dream match here though.
Penta could be the perfect opponent for Finn Bálor. Bálor is getting close to needing to remind WWE fans just how good he is in the ring.
A match with Penta would bring the best out of each man as they seek to prove who has the greater sling blade. A dark Penta could also force Bálor to summon his Demon for the first time since WrestleMania 39.
Hear me out. Intergender wrestling is seen as too taboo for WWE. But that is largely because of how many petite ladies, or models, were slammed through tables in WWE and ECW in the late 90s/early 00s.
In Mexican lucha libre, it is a huge thing. This is because they know how to present it in an entertaining way that doesn’t make people feel like they are watching the glorification of violence against women.
In Lucha Underground, Penta had a fantastic gauntlet match against Kairi Sane, IYO SKY, and Mayu Iwatani. He also had a decent match with the Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green.
Penta versus any of the above women would be a dream match, if pulled off, simply for how different it would be from anything else seen in WWE. But the way to go to ease WWE audiences into inter-gender wrestling is to stack the size advantage against the man.
Raquel Rodriguez boosts a size that towers over many of the men on the WWE roster. A match with Sheamus – in which he slaps her chest until it bruises – is not what anybody wants to see.
But, put her in the ring with someone who understands the craft of intergender wrestling, such as Penta, and you could have an instant classic.
