WWE now owns AAA, and wrestlers from either promotion don't need a big event to show up unannounced in the other's backyard. Chelsea Green and Ethan Page proved that on Sunday night when they turned up at an AAA taping and left with the promotion's Mixed Tag Team Championships.

Page and Green have been walking the halls of WWE and NXT, telling anyone who will listen why their home country of Canada is the best nation in the world. Well, on Sunday, they extended that campaign beyond the US and spent the night in Mexico, and it's hard to argue with the results.
The WWE stars issued a challenge to the now-former champions, La Hiedra and the ever-popular Mr. Iguana. Problems between the AAA pair were teased earlier in the night as Mr. Iguana clearly has eyes for NXT's Lola Vice. That all spilled over into the match itself and was ultimately what cost Iguana and Hiedra their championships.

Vice was on commentary for the match and continually flirted with Iguana. That eventually led to Hiedra stepping in and leaning over the ropes to grab a handful of Vice's hair. It was at that point Green saw an opportunity to capitalize on the sitraction, rolling Hiedra up for the win to become the new AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions alongside Page.
The win will almost certainly be an extension of Green and Page's Canadian gimmick. It began when Green became the first Women's US Champion, and has been extended via Page's run as North American Champion. Now the two of them can claim Canadian superiority over Mexico, too, having spent a single night in AAA and leaving as the promotion's Mixed Tag Champions.
WWE announced it has acquired AAA during WrestleMania 41 weekend, but it remains unclear what the future of the Mexican promotion will look like. For the time being, WWE has held crossover events which have largely pitted NXT and AAA wrestlers against each other, with the odd surprise thrown in, like Green and Page showing up to become AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions.
It also means there are now two AAA titles around the waists of WWE Superstars. Well, three if you count Page and Green as two, since they're Tag Champions. Dominik Mysterio is currently the AAA Mega Champion, the promotion's most coveted prize. The young upstart is still a double champion, too, having successfully defended the Intercontinental Title at Saturday Night's Main Event over the weekend.
