WrestleMania 43 is headed to Saudi Arabia in 2027, and fans are proposing some of WWE's biggest names, such as Stone Cold Steve Austin and John Cena, come out of retirement for the PLE. Triple H made the announcement on Friday (September 12) regarding Riyadh becoming the first non-North American host of the Show of Shows.

WWE Fans Fantasy Book WrestleMania 43

When the news leaked about WrestleMania 43 heading over to Saudi Arabia, it was quickly followed by reports claiming the Kingdom were eager to entice legendary stars to get back in the ring. There have been reports suggesting The Rock is in advanced talks about headlining Mania in two years' time and is being eyed up for either a main event against Roman Reigns or Cody Rhodes.

Fans reacted to Triple H's announcement by posting some comedic matchcards for the PLE, including one that would see a 70-year-old Bret Hart and 60-year-old Goldberg settle their real-life bad blood in the ring. A fan wrote:

"Bro I lowkey want Bret vs Goldberg."

That same matchcard also included The Undertaker, 62, squaring off against Shawn Michaels, 62, one last time. Another Mania classic would see Stone Cold, 62, face The Rock, 55, for a fourth time, and John Cena, 50, coming out of retirement after just two years to take on Kurt Angle, 58.

Another fan posted another matchcard that was perhaps more plausible, with Logan Paul embarking on a brotherly social media war with Jake Paul. A battle of the giants pitted seven-foot-three Omos against seven-foot-one Great Khali.

The reaction to Triple H's announcement regarding WrestleMania 43 taking place in Saudi Arabia has been extremely negative. WWE have held PLEs in the Middle Eastern country since 2018 and were most recently in the Kingdom for Night of Champions in June.

Saudi Arabian Government Wanted The Real WrestleMania

There had been speculation over WWE potentially holding a WrestleMania-branded event, much like the Greatest Royal Rumble, in Saudi Arabia to ensure the Mania PLE itself continued to be held in North America. The Saudi Arabian government reportedly "made clear" they wanted the actual WrestleMania rather than just an event with the same name, per Fightful Select.

WWE had teased European fans, particularly those from the UK, that it would be the first region outside of North America to host the Show of Shows. Triple H even visited London and spoke with Mayor Sadiq Khan while teasing the possibility, as John Cena has in many of his interviews.

WrestleMania 43 is set to take place in Riyadh, likely at King Fahd Sports City, which is set to be expanded to a capacity of 70,000. This means WWE will still fail to break the pro wrestling attendance record set by AEW when All In: London took place at Wembley Stadium and achieved an attendance of 72,265.
