WWE Hall of Famer Ozzy Osbourne, who recently wrapped up his live performance career just weeks ago, has died. He was 76 years old.

"The Prince of Darkness" is widely considered to be one of the most influential voices in rock music history, with his band Black Sabbath laying the foundation for the heavy metal genre. He would go on to have a highly successful solo career, and became a reality TV show icon with "The Osbournes."

Osbourne's family confirmed the news to The Sun on Tuesday, releasing the following statement:

"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."The Osbourne Family

The Rock N' Roll Hall of Famer had been suffering from Parkinson's Disease for more than five years, and earlier this month performed his farewell concert with his personal band alongside the reunited members of Black Sabbath.

Osbourne has appeared on WWE TV several times throughout the years, most notably at WrestleMania 2. There, he partnered up with Captain Lou Albano to manage The British Bulldogs as they beat The Dream Team to win the WWE Tag Team Championship.

He would show up several more times as he rose back to fame in the 2000s, performing on SmackDown, guest hosting Monday Night Raw, and lending Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" to serve as the soundtrack for NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

Osbourne was WWE's celebrity inductee to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021.
