WWE May Be Banking On A New Partnership To Win Over Fans

A surprising new partnership was formed during Friday's episode of WWE SmackDown, and it could be exactly what’s needed to win over the fans for a long-awaited babyface turn. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss teamed up and the two top Superstars shared won their way into a WWE Tag Team Championship match at Evolution. Previously not friends, the two seem to be seeing eye to eye as the odd couple.

It's an old tactic in professional wrestling that gets fans to love the heel, which is something Charlotte is hoping works.

Charlotte Wants To Be A Babyface

Charlotte is one of WWE's most decorated performers, but she's also polarizing. A strong heel, every time she tries to be a babyface, the fans seemingly reject her. She has struggled to gain consistent support from the WWE Universe, despite countless accolades and strong in-ring performances. There is a resistance to embracing her as a fan favorite.

In a recent interview, she expressed her eagerness for another run as a babyface, saying, “I really do enjoy seeing the kids. And that’s what it’s all about, right? It’s the fan interaction, and if it wasn’t for you guys, we’d be out of business.”

That’s where her rumored new ally, Alexa Bliss, could come in.

The Tag Team Will Get Fans To Love Charlotte

Bliss, one of WWE’s most beloved female Superstars, has consistently maintained a strong connection with fans. By aligning these two, WWE may be hoping to transfer some of that goodwill and give Flair the fresh start she’s been seeking.

The timing may be just right. WWE has struggled to find a good storyline for Bliss and with the Evolution 2 PLE right around the corner, having Flair and Bliss make a run with the tag team titles could give both a fun narrative to play off of.

If the partnership materializes, the duo could inject new life into the WWE Women’s Tag Team division, and the playful interactions between the two could make for entertaining programming. In some ways, it's like Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns, which did wonders for Zayn and catapulted him into the main event scene.

Whether the WWE Universe finally embraces Charlotte as a babyface remains to be seen. But with the right partner by her side, WWE just might succeed in changing minds.
