The Men’s Royal Rumble Match opened with chaos. Early favorite Bron Breakker was eliminated within seconds after being blindsided by a mystery man in a hoodie—a jarring moment that suggested the match was ready to take risks.

Unfortunately, that moment proved to be the high point.

For all the hype surrounding this international Royal Rumble—much of it again fueled by Triple H in the lead-up—the men’s match ultimately fell short of expectations. As someone who has watched Royal Rumbles for three decades and attended several in person, this one left too much on the table.

Below is a full breakdown of the winner, every elimination in order, and the final match grade.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns stood tall once again as WWE signed off just after 2 a.m. local time in Riyadh, fireworks lighting the skyline as Michael Cole declared Reigns “back on top of the mountain.”

The victory reestablishes Reigns as the central figure heading into WrestleMania season, but it also raises immediate questions. Which championship will he pursue? And with Drew McIntyre and CM Punk both holding major titles, it’s far from guaranteed either man will still be champion by the time WWE reaches Las Vegas.

Match Highlights & Analysis

  • Bron Breakker's sudden elimination was the match highlight. It appears there is a new Rollins-led faction in the works.
  • Trick Williams got one of the biggest pops of the night. He could become WWE's most popular star within 5 years. The complete package.
  • Chad Gable returned as El Grande Americano, but it took the Saudi Arabia crowd too long to get it.
  • Royce Keys, formerly known as Powerhouse Hobbs, debuted in impressive fashion. WWE acknowledged his former name.
  • Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi had a good showdown, likely leading to a singles clash later in the year.

Match Grade: C-

This Rumble left too much unrealized.

The crowd noticeably cooled during key stretches, including moments WWE clearly intended to be highlights. Some of that is understandable—much of the match took place after 1 a.m. local time..

The second half improved, particularly with entrances like LA Knight and Randy Orton, but the match never fully recovered.

Using two AAA entrants was too many, especially with four established main roster luchadores in the match. Rey Fenix’s one-minute appearance was particularly puzzling and felt like a wasted opportunity.

And the decision to place Gunther at No. 30 was baffling. While the intent was clearly to give Roman Reigns a dominant final obstacle, Gunther’s entrance drained viewers—without the productive heat WWE likely wanted.

The extended fireworks display that closed the show only underscored the issue: the spectacle outpaced the substance.
