Here Are Your Key Moments From WWE Monday Night Raw For December 29, 2025

  • The show opens with The Vision, flanked by Paul Heyman, and officially with Austin Theory. Heyman scolds the crowd that are chanting for CM Punk and starts his intro again. He says that in the future, this night is the moment that fans will identify with the future main eventers at WrestleMania. Heyman confirms that Austin Theory is the newest member of the stable, and hands him this mic. Theory says he's waited his whole life and worked his whole career for this moment. He then hypes up Bron Breakker. Heyman reminds Theory that the goals of The Vision outweigh the needs of any individual inside the group. As he finishes that statement, Punk's music hits and he enters the arena. Punk asks him why he's drinking so much of the Kool-Aid but says he's really here for Breakker. Punk says that the match on January 5th is set, and he's here to look Breakker in the eye before he puts him to sleep. He tells Breakker to get The Vision out of the ring so he can talk to him face to face. Breakker says The Vision is here for the future and that he's tired of the fans and Punk telling him he's going to figure it out in the future, he's the now. He dares Punk to find someone like him who's taken the company by storm as quick as he has. He says he's had to live up to a higher standard than he could ever imagine, and while he was paying dues on the indies, and he was on the field with Lamar Jackson, then tells him he's going to put him in the ground and become the new World Heavyweight Champion. Punk tells him he's more ready than anyone in The Vision, but Punk's not ready. He throws his belt on the ground and tells him to pick it up. It's a privilege to hold that title, and he's not ready to let it go. He tells Breakker that he's right, they're not the same, because he is CM Punk, and then tells him that someone will eventually beat him for that title, but it won't be him.
  • Gunther is seen backstage and Jackie Redmond asks him if he has any response to the comments about his commentary on John Cena. R-Truth appears and tells him the disrespect has to stop. He says he beat the GOAT but every week he says the same thing. He tells him he's not a great person, and although he's done it twice, he won't do it a third time. Gunther asks him if that's a challenge, and that he'll see him in the ring. Truth says he'll see him there.
  • The Kabuki Warriors come to the ring, and Asuka says she pinned Rhea Ripley in the ring and continues to gloat about her win. Kairi Sane says that IYO SKY should have never attacked her, until Asuka yells her name and jump scares her. Asuka repeats that Ripley and SKY paid for their disrespect last week and no one is ready for them. Ripley's music hits and her and SKY enter the ring to attack them, and a fight ensues outside the ring between them.
  • Jimmy Uso hypes up Jey Uso before their match, but Jey looks frustrated. He feels like he's been in a bad spot recently and doesn't want to do that to Jimmy. Jimmy tells Jey he is him, and that he has the whole arena in his hand. Jey stands up and daps him, telling him he's ready.
  • As Austin Theory and Logan Paul attacked Rey Mysterio following the match, Penta made a surprise return, saving Mysterio from the beatdown.
  • Women's Intercontinental Champion Maxxine Dupri comes to the ring and tells the crowd she had a great holiday, thanking the fans for their support. Becky Lynch interrupts her speech and denies that she tapped out, but she says she came to give Dupri credit. She tells Dupri that she originally thought she was the worst thing she's ever seen, but tells her she's gotten a "tiny bit better". Dupri says she didn't steal anything, she earned the championship. Lynch tells her that just because she's trained in a Dungeon for a few weeks doesn't mean she's at her level, and that she'll find out next week.

CM Punk And Bron Breakker Lights On Fire

CM Punk is at his absolute best when he's unleashed and untethered on the microphone, and tonight proved that he still can go with anyone, any time, any place. Bron Breakker has been on fire with his promo work recently, and brought the same fire to Punk's door, escalating the war of words between the two further ahead of their match next week.

It's anyone's game next week to win the championship, and while it would make sense for Breakker to win, it feels somewhat unlikely to see Punk drop the strap anytime before WrestleMania 42. Bron Breakker will undoubtedly be a main event player and future champion, but Punk's reign's road leads directly back to Seth Rollins, whenever and wherever he returns from his injury.

R-Truth Brings The Seriousness, And We Want More Of It

R-Truth isn't just a comedy performer, he's a two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, and a legendary performer in his own right. When R-Truth brought the serious energy as Ron Killings, following the initially shattering John Cena heel turn, fans hoped they'd see more of this new, harder version of him.

Once the Cena heel turn was abandoned, Killings reverted to his R-Truth character and the angle appeared to be dropped. Tonight's flash of it with Gunther was a welcomed change, especially as Gunther continues to wreak havoc on the WWE roster following his retirement of Cena.
