Here Are Your Key Moments From Monday Night Raw For December 8, 2025

  • Gunther opens the show tonight, entering the ring to loud boos from the crowd. He says by making LA Knight submit last week, he earned the honor of being the last opponent for John Cena in his last match. Gunther calls John Cena the greatest sports entertainer of all time, and that he will face the best professional wrestler of all time. Gunther then tells the producers to pull up a countdown clock to Cena's last match, their last time with their hero who never gives up. He says beating him is not enough. He's going to do something no one's ever done before: he's going to break his soul, bully him, and squeeze out the last drops of hustle, loyalty, and respect, and force him to do the one thing he'd never do. He's going to force him to give up.
  • The Vision is backstage, and Logan Paul asks if anyone saw Rey Mysterio smack him in the face. He asks Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed if they'll handle it, and they say they'll handle it. Paul Heyman tells Paul that he'll finally have backup, but he tells Heyman that if they get in trouble, he'll be their backup. Heyman says he fully respects him, but hands him his brass knuckles "just in case."
  • Before his match with Finn Balor can begin, Rey Mysterio is attacked by Logan Paul. As Paul tries to hit him with the brass knuckles, Mysterio kicks him but Paul counters with an elbow. Mysterio gets ready to hit him with a 619, but the masked man from Survivor Series hits Mysterio with the Curb Stomp and runs into the crowd. Paul capitalizes and hits Mysterio with the brass knuckles. LA Knight comes out to make the save, and tells Paul it's time for him to pay and challenges him to a match tonight.
  • Je'Von Evans was shown ringside, and after AJ Styles and Dragon Lee retained, it was announced that he and TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater would challenge them for the World Tag Team Championships at Saturday Night's Main Event.
  • Following their retention of their championships, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee were confronted by The New Day and Grayson Waller. The Usos entered the ring, with Jimmy Uso telling the crowd that he called Jey and told him they needed to get back to doing them and that they're back to take over the tag team division once again. After dispatching The New Day, The Usos stared down Styles and Lee.
  • Stephanie Vaquer came to the ring and said that she's ready for her next opponent, and that she's the best women's wrestler in the world. She says that the women's roster is so much different than it was 15 years ago when Nikki Bella was there. Bella appeared from the back and is demanding a rematch for her championship. Raquel Rodriguez appears and lawn darted her into the post, and tells Vaquer that she's next in line, and that she'll be there to take her title from her.
  • Another vignette shows Maxxine Dupri training with Natalya, and the first appearance of Natalya's "Lowkey Legend" persona on WWE television.
  • During the main event, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed came to the aid of Logan Paul, only to be booted from ringside by the referee. The masked man returned and delivered a Curb Stomp to Knight, allowing Paul to get the win. The Vision attacked Knight following the end of the match, with Reed delivering two Tsunami Splashes after a vicious Breakker spear.
  • The Vision stands together in the ring, and Paul Heyman tells the crowd that at the one year anniversary of Monday Night Raw next month, and Bron Breakker takes the mic. He asks where CM Punk is, but not physically, the REAL CM Punk. Breakker says he doesn't buy this new nice guy game; he's a fraud. Breakker says he wants the man who used to be feared, the guy who beat The Rock, the guy who he thought was the best wrestler to ever lace up his boot. Breakker gets on his hands and knees and begs for the old CM Punk so he can beat that version. He says he's going to take this new version to Hell, and he'll take AJ Lee while he's at it. LA Kight appears on the screen backstage, and as Reed and Paul run to the back, Breakker tells him it'll be "Spear, 1, 2, 3" and repeats it again into the camera. Paul and Reed continue to attack Knight backstage, throwing him into a table and a car. Reed tells Paul to set Knight up on top of the car and delivers a Tsunami to Kngiht on top of the vehicle.

Gunther Can Become The New Legend Killer This Weekend

The final time is Saturday for John Cena, and after a vicious battle on Friday Night SmackDown, Gunther will be his final opponent. The opportunity is prime to make Gunther an even bigger star than he already is, and there's a major component to be played here: Gunther can be this generation's Legend Killer.

Much like Randy Orton made his bones in the early aughts with his Legend Killer persona, Gunther can take this moniker to an entirely new level by retiring Goldberg and John Cena in the same calendar year. With another major retirement on the horizon with AJ Styles, Gunther could be positioned to be the most dominant heel in WWE since Brock Lesnar, and begin his ascent to kill every Legend in his path.

Who Is The Masked Man That's Assisting The Vision?

We've now witnessed the second appearance of the masked man assisting members of The Vision, and this time, he attacked Rey Mysterio to assist Logan Paul. While the consensus seems to be pointed at a returning Austin Theory, is it possible that this person could be someone else, perhaps a profit of a different kind?

Theory's been rumored to be the newest member of The Vision, after unconfirmed reports placed him in the original plans for Team Vision at Survivor Series until Seth Rollins' injury. The masked man's body structure and agility appear to lead me to believe it's someone else entirely, and my money's currently on another rumored Superstar under the mask: Montez Ford.

The height and agility of tonight's Curb Stomp, as well as his mannerisms inside the ring, certainly make the case for Ford being the masked man, who had the beginnings of a singles run with an incredible showing in 2023's Elimination Chamber. Additionally, Paul Heyman reportedly pitched hard for Ford to become a major star, according to Road Dogg in an interview with Busted Open Radio in 2022. Although it's been reported that Heyman is also interested in Austin Theory, all visual cues lead to Montez Ford.

Jey Uso Is Back In The Tag Team Division (For Now)

After several months of frustration and a lack of singles gold back around his waist, Jey Uso has declared that The Usos are back in town, and they're ready to take back the tag team division. He and Jimmy are still the longest-reigning tag team champions in WWE history, and it makes sense to inject them back into the division.

Jey's become one of the biggest stars in WWE over the past year, and his sudden pivot back to the division feels somewhat rushed, especially after his frustrated explosion after his loss to LA Knight last week. This feels like a longer-term story is at play for a Jey Uso singles redemption arc, especially if Roman Reigns remains in his ear about his potential.
