  • WWE's cryptic teasers are WM42 marketing, not a new faction or storyline.
  • Boot shots point to Cody, CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar; Lesnar's boots were unmistakable.
  • Fans frustrated by overhyped clues; full promo expected to be revealed on tonight's Raw.

WWE shared a fourth cryptic teaser on Monday, getting fans even more excited for the potential of what might be motivating the shots of wrestlers feet as they ominously walk in slow motion. Many believed it was hinting at a debut, a new faction arriving, or something storyline-related that would give the WWE Universe something interesting to rally behind. No such luck, according to new reports.

WWE Is Promoting WrestleMania 42

Several reports are now revealing that these teasers are not for anything creative. This is a simple marketing strategy for the company's biggest two-night event of the year. @WrestleVotes writes, "It’s a WM42 promo and it’s expected to be revealed, in full, sometime later today."

The most recent video was the biggest giveaway of them all, as it was clear the boots belonged to Brock Lesnar. His unmistakable look, with cowboy boots and jeans, made it clear this was either Lesnar leading a group for WarGames or a premium live event promotional video. When John Cena also posted the video on his Instagram feed, it brought new awareness to the videos, but he's not expected to be involved in WrestleMania 42. He might just be doing his job as a good soldier by helping promote WWE's big show.

Expect WWE to show these videos in full on tonight's Monday Night Raw, finally revealing what they're for.

Who Is In All Of The Videos?

The four videos appear to be of Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and Brock Lesnar. All will have a major role to play at WrestleMania 42, as they are arguably the biggest faces of WWE these days.

Many are hoping there is still a twist yet to be revealed and this is more than just marketing for a big PLE. Such is the downside of posting teasers like this. The fans get themselves worked up trying to solve the clues and reveal the mystery. When it doesn't pay off and there isn't really a mystery to solve, it inevitably frustrates fans who were expecting a much bigger payoff.
