WWE NXT The Great American Bash Results

Je’Von Evans vs. Jasper Troy

This is a fairly new feud, but it’s already quite the bitter rivalry. Je’Von Evans and Jasper Troy kicked off The Great American Bash with a hard-hitting match that got the crowd involved. Evans picked up the roll-up victory but, if the past few NXT shows are any indicator, there is a good chance that this is only the start of the rivalry rather than the end.

Sol Ruca (c) vs. Izzi Dame [NXT Women’s North American Championship]

As soon as the bell rang, Tatum Paxley attacked Zaria, and the two got into a brawl outside the ring. The referee stepped out to break that up, whilst Izzi Dame planted Sol Ruca. Unfortunately for Dame, with the referee’s attention diverted, this was not the end of the match, and the pair continued on.

This is Ruca’s second of three matches this weekend, so it was important for her to have a strong showing. Dame proved herself as a worthy contender, with Paxley trying to assist her at the end. Zaria neutralizes that threat, allowing Ruca to retain her title.

Ethan Page (c) vs. Ricky Saints [NXT North American Championship Falls Count Anywhere]

Ethan Page and Ricky Saints’ issues run deep, and this Falls Count Anywhere stipulation was the perfect playground for them to be as brutal as can be. They waste no time getting the action started, and they soon find themselves out on the floor. Page soon targeted Saints’ throat, but the two were bringing the brutality and using all weapons they could find, much to the delight of the fans at Center Stage.

Backstage, the pair literally bump into (an already annoyed) Troy, and he attacks Saints. Back to ringside and on the ramp, Page and Saints are crafty with ways to beat each other down. Page ultimately launches Saints through some tables from the ramp, thus allowing him to pick up the pinfall victory.

WWE NXT Heatwave Announced

The next NXT PLE was announced to be Heatwave. This is set to take place on Sunday, August 24 in Lowell, Massachusetts. Tickets for the event go on sale on Wednesday, July 16.

TNA World Championship Contract Signing

NXT General Manager Ava facilitated the TNA World Championship contract signing on behalf of TNA Director of Authority, Santino Marella. Trick Williams, Joe Hendry, and Mike Santana came out to the ring, and all three had some sharp words for each other. Once all three had signed the contract, Hendry and Santana had the final laugh as they powerbombed Williams through the table. DarkState came out and attacked Hendry and Santana though.

Oba Femi (c) vs. Yoshiki Inamura [NXT Championship]

Oba Femi officially holds the 10th-longest reign as NXT Champion, and it’s one that he is not ready to end anytime soon. Yoshiki Inamura represents NOAH Pro-Wrestling and could make history as the first non-contracted wrestler to win a WWE title. Whilst Femi and Inamura seemed to have respect for each other, Inamura’s tag partner, Josh Briggs, seems to bring havoc.

Briggs continuously tried to insert himself into this match, despite Inamura making it clear that he wants this to be a match of honor. Well, despite his best efforts, Briggs’ interference led to Inamura losing the match. In a post-match interview backstage, Femi promised Inamura a fair rematch sometime, but Briggs brawled with him instead.

Ava Sets Up Six-Man Tag Team Match

Trick Williams finds Ava in her office and complains about being attacked by Hendry and Santana. Ava lets it be known that she suspects he is working with DarkState, as they attacked the TNA Superstars right after they attacked him. He denies this, so Ava sets up a six-man tag team match, putting Williams, Hendry & Santana together against three members of DarkState for this Tuesday.

Jacy Jayne & Fallon Henley vs. Jordynne Grace & Blake Monroe

The tag team match that saw Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley go up against Jordynne Grace and Blake Monroe was confirmed to be the main event of The Great American Bash just moments before the show began. This was particularly important for Jayne and Grace, as this could be a chance to weaken the other ahead of their NXT Women’s Championship bout at Evolution. Monroe had this as her in-ring debut for the WWE.

For the most part, Jayne and Henley were isolating Grace from Monroe. Jazmyn Nyx interfered a couple of times, but TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich evened the numbers game. Grace and Monroe showed teamwork, and the latter ultimately pinned Jayne to pick up the win for them both.
