WWE Royal Rumble: Saudi Fans Just Made Clear Who They DON’T Want to Win
Cody Rhodes & CM Punk Before WWE SummerSlam 2024)

The excitement is building towards Saturday's WWE Royal Rumble PLE, and tonight's episode of SmackDown made clear who fans want to prevail. There have already been 18 participants revealed for the men's Rumble match, including Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Bron Breakker, and Brock Lesnar.

Some of the men who will be battling it out in the Rumble appeared on SmackDown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday night. It was clear from the reception one of them received that they don't have the backing of the Saudi fans.

Fans Don't Want Cody Rhodes Royal Rumble Win

Cody Rhodes opened the show and cut a promo about his desire to win the Rumble while also pointing out that he is a two-time winner of the match. But once the former Undisputed WWE Champion said it made sense for him to win a third tomorrow, he was met with an emphatic response.

A large portion of the fans in attendance all shouted "no," and his promo didn't go without boos. They seemed more excited about a potential Randy Orton win after the Viper interrupted Rhodes.

Orton corrected Rhodes about not being the only two-time Rumble winner participating in the match, and this received a pop. But the most popular choice among Saudi fans seems to be Roman Reigns.

When CM Punk asked the crowd at the Royal Rumble Kickoff Show who they thought would win the men's match, they responded with "OTC" chants while pointing one finger to the sky. Reigns hasn't appeared on WWE TV since Survivor Series, but will be in action tomorrow.

Cody Rhodes Teases CM Punk Match at WrestleMania 42

Rhodes also discussed his options if he were to win the Rumble on Saturday and he suggested he might target Punk and the World Heavyweight Championship. He said:

"In my career I have taken the road less travelled more than once. So much as I say that it would make the most sense to challenge for the title that meant the most to me, CM Punk you're still the World Heavyweight Champion right? We've got to do this eventually bud."

Rhodes and Punk have yet to battle one another since both returned to WWE after stints in AEW, but a potential feud between them has been teased on several occasions. Punk dropped an intriguing Instagram post on Thursday, which was a screenshot of a previous promo segment between the pair.
